Eye examination apparatus with cameras and display
Disclosed is an eye examination apparatus that can be used in professional settings. The eye examination apparatus has a body having a first eye opening and a second eye opening for a user to see into the eye examination apparatus using two eyes. The eye examination apparatus also has a first camera coupled to the body and positioned to acquire ophthalmic images through the first eye opening, and a second camera coupled to the body and positioned to acquire ophthalmic images through the second eye opening. The eye examination apparatus also has at least one display coupled to the body and positioned to be viewable through the first eye opening and the second eye opening.
Glucose measuring apparatus and method
Disclosed is a glucose measuring apparatus including a pressure measurer having an elastic part or a pressure sensor, that measures a pressure applied to an object, a film that comprises a first optical waveguide configured to be close to the object, a near infrared ray (NIR) irradiator that irradiates an NIR to the first optical waveguide if the measured pressure is greater than or equal to a preset value, an NIR receiver that receives an attenuated total reflection NIR (ATR-NIR) from the first optical waveguide, and an analyzer that measures a blood glucose level based on the ATR-NIR, wherein the film is an independent module that can be combined with and separated from the glucose measuring apparatus.
Handheld Oximeter with Display of Real-Time and Average Measurement Determination
An oximetry device sealed in a sheath directs a user to allow the oximetry device to make oximetry readings at a number of different tissue locations of a patient and average two or more of the oximetry readings by directing the lifts and placements of the oximetry device and sheath to and from the different tissue locations and detecting the lift and placements. The averages are generated and displayed on a display of the device for the oximetry readings if the lifts are made while use directions for the lifts are displayed on a display of the oximetry device. The averages are not generated if the lifts are not made while the user directions for the lifts are not displayed. The averages are simultaneously displayed with the oximetry readings which are instantaneous measurement for patient tissue.
Wearable physical-activity measurement system for balancing physical-activity energy expenditure and basal metabolic rate to food energy intake by adjusting measured portions of food ingredients
An energy balancing system scales portion sizes of user-selected meal recipes to control a digital scale to prompt the user to measure scaled quantities of meal ingredients to prepare scaled meals. Physical activity tracking devices provide data to generate physical activity energy expenditures for energy burned by physical activity. The physical activity energy is added to a basal metabolic rate of energy expenditure that is a function of sex, weight, height, and age. The total energy expended are scaled down for a weight-loss goal to obtain the total recommended energy. A recipe portion-size optimizer adjusts scaling factors for each recipe so that the total recommended energy is met by the scaled meals. Amounts of nutrients for the recipes can also be scaled by the scaling factors to match recommended nutrient amounts when the meal recipe optimizer generates the scaling factors using an over-determined linear system optimizer.
Method for collecting particles from exhaled breath using a portable sampling device
A portable handheld sampling device for collecting aerosol particles in a stream of exhaled breath provided with an inlet and an outlet, wherein the sampling device further comprises a housing and a collecting device holder removably arranged at least partially inside the housing, wherein the housing and the collecting device holder are arranged to guide the stream of exhaled breath through the device from the inlet to the outlet, wherein said collecting device holder comprises at least two cylindrical conduits arranged in parallel, each defining a flow path in fluid connection with the inlet, wherein a cylindrical collecting device is arranged in each conduit, the collecting device being adapted to collect the aerosol particles in the exhaled breath. A method for collecting aerosol particles in exhaled breath of a user using a portable handheld sampling device by means of a reopening breathing maneuver.
EXAMINATION DEVICE AND EYE EXAMINATION METHOD
The invention relates to an examination device (1), a method for an automated examination of at least one eye (4, 4′) of a person, a computer program product and the various uses of the examination device (1).
OPHTHALMIC PORTABLE LASER SLIT LAMP AND METHOD FOR EYE INSPECTION
An ophthalmic portable laser slit lamp for ophthalmic examination and a method of eye inspection. The device comprises a portable housing containing an electronic timer circuit, a rechargeable battery, a laser module containing a laser emitting diode, a fixed focusing lens that sets the appropriate focal distance for the examination method and a line generator lens acting as a slit aperture. The laser beam aimed to the eye of the patient illuminates the eye with a very thin straight laser line at a fixed focal distance. The device also comprises a safety timer circuit that protects the patients eye against irradiation overload. The method of the invention allows the surgeon to detect surgical eye disorders at the operating room and helps to carry out a correct diagnosis in a much more precise and effective way than any light or laser spot device.
STEERING ASSEMBLY FOR SURGICAL ROBOT
A surgical robot a robotic device and a cart. The cart is coupled to the robotic device and includes a steering assembly. The steering assembly includes wheels and is configured such that the wheels allow the cart to roll in a linear direction when a first mode is selected and the wheels allow the cart to roll in a rotational direction when a second mode is selected.
Digital-based medical devices
A skin measuring microscope includes a housing, an electronic imager disposed along an imaging axis, and an illumination system. The illumination system includes a plurality of LEDs disposed in a ring-like configuration adjacent a distal end of the housing.
BREATH ANALYSIS SYSTEM
A portable system is provided for measuring an analyte, such as acetone, in the breath or other bodily fluid of a user. The system includes a portable measurement device that analyzes fluid samples and generates corresponding measurements. The portable measurement device communicates with an application which runs on a smartphone or other mobile device of the user, and the application reports measurement data to a remote system.
