Described herein is a cationic surfactant. Also described herein is a method of using the cationic surfactant, the method including using the cationic surfactant in laundry detergent compositions (for example in combination with an anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant and/or enzyme).

An aqueous light duty liquid detergent formulation is provided including a water; an essential oil; a derivative of castor oil having a formula selected from formula I and formula II; an ethoxylated phenol having formula III; an anionic surfactant and a zwitterionic surfactant. The present invention relates to a surfactant booster for use in high foaming cleaning compositions. In an aspect of the invention, a C6, C7, C8, C9, C10, C11 or C12 linear alcohol in very low amounts is added to increase surface activity, foam and wetting properties of the composition. The alcohol is added in an amount of alcohol to surfactant of about 1:100 to 1:200 and must be linear. In another aspect, the invention relates to novel cleaning compositions such as pot and pan soaking compositions, dishwashing compositions, food and beverage foaming cleaners, vehicle cleaning and the like suitable for use in hard water, which can be solid or liquid. The invention further relates to methods of making these compositions, and to methods employing these compositions.

A method of making a non-fibrous laundry detergent sheet can include dispensing a microcapsule onto a precursor non-fibrous laundry detergent sheet, wherein the precursor non-fibrous laundry detergent sheet can include: (a) at least one surfactant; (b) at least one film former; and (c) a thickness ranging from 0.1 mm to 10 mm.

A composition, lethal to a broad spectrum of microorganisms and capable of repeated applications to hard surfaces, includes solvent and solute components. The solvent component includes water and a lesser amount of at least one organic liquid, while the solute component includes a weak acid, a conjugate base of that acid, an oxidizing electrolyte, and an ionic surfactant. The composition is acidic but has a pH of at least 2.5 and an effective solute concentration of at least 2.5 Osm/L.

A method for producing a sheet-form active ingredient carrier containing at least one water-soluble active ingredient which is stored in manufacturer-dried state and is soluble and activatable by addition of water. According to the method, the at least one active ingredient as a scatterable or pourable powder is scattered onto an inner nonwoven composed of at least partially water-soluble material and subsequently a firm assembly is produced therefrom by fusing. The assembly produced from the inner nonwoven and from the at least one active ingredient scattered on as scatter powder is positioned as a core ply between outer nonwovens, applied on both sides, composed of at least partially water-soluble material. A sheet-form active ingredient carrier having an inner layer which carries the at least one active ingredient and which is covered on both sides by textile layers composed of at least partially water-soluble outer nonwovens is also provided.
