STABLE UNIT DOSE COMPOSITIONS WITH HIGH WATER CONTENT
Stable unit dose compositions with high water content are provided. Such unit dose compositions include an aqueous composition having a water activity of from about 0.65 to about 0.95 and a water-soluble container formed from a water-soluble or water-dispersible film material. In one embodiment, the aqueous composition includes water in an amount of 25% to 70% by weight, a surfactant system, and a water binding agent. The surfactant system may include: (1) a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) and/or an alcohol ethoxylsulfate (AES), (2) a non-ionic surfactant, and (3) a fatty acid. The unit dose compositions can prevent the enclosed liquid detergent composition with a high level of water content from dissolving or pre-maturely dispersing the water-soluble container.
STABLE UNIT DOSE COMPOSITIONS WITH HIGH WATER CONTENT AND STRUCTURED SURFACTANTS
Stable unit dose compositions with high water content are provided. Such unit dose compositions include an aqueous composition having a water activity of from about 0.60 to about 0.95 and a water-soluble container formed from a water-soluble or water-dispersible film material. In one embodiment, the aqueous composition includes water in an amount of 20% to 70% by weight, a structured surfactant system which is in the form of a lamellar structure, and a salt which promotes the formation of the lamellar structure. The surfactant system may include: (1) a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) and/or an alcohol ethoxylsulfate (AES), (2) a non-ionic surfactant, and (3) a fatty acid. The unit dose compositions can prevent the enclosed liquid detergent composition with a high level of water content from dissolving or pre-maturely dispersing the water-soluble container due to the lamellar structure of the composition.
Solid textile care and/or skincare composition
Solid textile- and/or skin-care compositions encompassing a water-soluble particle and a water-insoluble particle that contains a water-insoluble carrier and a textile- and/or skin-care compound. Also, textile-softening washing detergents or cleaning agents encompassing the textile- and/or skin-care composition.
OPHTHALMIC AND CONTACT LENS SOLUTIONS CONTAINING SIMPLE SACCHARIDES AS PRESERVATIVE ENHANCERS
The present invention relates to an ophthalmic solution comprising 0.00001 to 10.0 weight percent of a simple saccharide, at least 0.00001 weight percent of a preservative, and not more than about 0.2 percent by weight chloride. The simple saccharide is chosen from the group consisting of: inositol; mannitol; sorbitol; sucrose; dextrose; glycerin; propylene glycol; ribose; triose; tetrose; erythrose; threose; pentose; arabinose; ribulose; xylose; xylulose; lyxose; hexose; allose; altrose; fructose; galactose; glucose; gulose; idose; mannose; sorbose; talose; tagatose; adlose; ketose; heptose; sedoheptulose; monosaccharides; disaccharides; sugar alcohols; xylitol; and polyol.
USE OF SUGARS IN A STABILIZATION MATRIX AND SOLID COMPOSITIONS
The use of sugars in a stabilization matrix and solid detergent compositions is disclosed along with methods of making and using the solid detergent compositions.
OSMOTIC BURST ENCAPSULATES
Described are compositions and methods relating to an osmotic burst enzyme delivery system, osmotic burst encapsulates, and methods of use, thereof. Being transitioned to an environment of decreased osmolarity causes the osmotic burst encapsulates to rupture and release their enzyme payload. The compositions and methods have applications in laundry and dishwashing.
Composition comprising isosorbide monoesters and isosorbide diesters
What are described are compositions comprising one or more compounds of the formula (I) and one or more compounds of the formula (II) ##STR00001##
in which R, R.sup.a and R.sup.b each independently of one another are straight-chain or branched saturated alkyl groups having 5 to 11 carbon atoms or straight-chain or branched mono- or polyunsaturated alkenyl groups having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, wherein the total amount of the compounds of the formulae (I) and (II), based on the total weight of the compositions, is at least 60% by weight. In an advantageous manner, the compositions are suitable for producing cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical compositions, crop protection formulations, washing or cleaning compositions or paints or coatings.
GLYCOSYLATED AROMA- AND FRAGRANCE PRECURSORS AND FRAGRANCE PRODUCTS THAT CAN BE ACTIVATED
The present invention discloses biotechnologically produced inactive aroma- and fragrance/scent precursors in new concentration ranges beyond those of natural aroma glycoside sources, which can be activated by external triggers like enzymes, temperature and p H, and then release the aroma and the fragrance.
LEUCO POLYMERS AS BLUING AGENTS IN LAUNDRY CARE COMPOSITIONS
A laundry care composition including (i) from 2 to 70 wt % of a surfactant; and (ii) from 0.0001 to 20.0 wt % of a leuco polymer that includes a polyethylenimine and at least one leuco moiety covalently bound to the polyethylenimine. The polyethylenimine comprises three or more amine nitrogen atoms and 1 mol. % or more of amine hydrogen atoms in the polyethylenimine are replaced with a moiety selected from the group consisting of 2-hydroxypropyl, 1-hydroxypropane-2-yl, and polyalkoxy groups. Methods of making the leuco polymer and methods of treating textiles with such laundry care compositions.
LEUCO POLYMERS AS BLUING AGENTS IN LAUNDRY CARE COMPOSITIONS
A method of obtaining a laundry care composition, the method comprising the steps of (a) reacting a reactive leuco compound with a polymer to form a leuco polymer and (b) mixing the leuco polymer with at least one laundry care ingredient. The reactive leuco compound comprises at least one leuco moiety and at least one nucleophilic group. The polymer comprises at least one group capable of reacting with said nucleophilic group. The leuco moiety has a maximum molar extinction coefficient at a wavelength in the range 400 to 750 nm of less than 1000 M.sup.1 cm.sup.1.
