DEVICES AND METHODS FOR REMOTE THERAPY AND PATIENT MONITORING
Systems and methods for remote therapy and patient monitoring are provided. A method comprises contacting an outer skin surface of a patient with a contact surface of a stimulator and transmitting an electrical impulse from the stimulator transcutaneously through the outer skin surface to a nerve within the patient. Data related to parameters of the electrical impulse applied to the nerve is stored and transmitted to a remote source. The data may include duration of treatment, amplitude of the electrical impulse, compliance with a prescribed therapy regimen or other relevant data related to the therapy. The method may further include collecting patient status data, such as symptoms of a medical condition (e.g., severity of a headache) before, during and/or after stimulation. The patient status data is correlated with the treatment data to monitor compliance and/or the effectiveness of the therapy.
Optical Sensor Package with Magnetic Component for Device Attachment
An integrated sensor package for an electronic device may include a matrix material defining a body structure of the integrated sensor package, a light emitting diode at least partially encapsulated in the matrix material, a photodiode at least partially encapsulated in the matrix material and configured to detect light emitted by the light emitting diode and reflected by an object external to the integrated sensor package, a via structure at least partially encapsulated in the matrix material, a permanent magnet at least partially encapsulated in the matrix material, a first conductive member on a first side of the integrated sensor package and conductively coupling the light emitting diode to a first end of the via structure, and a second conductive member on a second side of the integrated sensor package opposite the first side and conductively coupled to a second end of the via structure.
Hemodynamic monitoring system with detachable display unit
A patient monitor configured to receive patient-information electrical signals from an invasive patient sensor and a minimally invasive patient sensor, the patient monitor including a base unit and a detachable user interface unit for displaying hemodynamic parameters determined by the base unit. The base unit and user interface unit can be docked together, tethered together through a cabled connection, or physically separated from one another using wireless communication to transmit and receive information. The base unit and the user interface unit may pair before the user interface unit displays data to link the base unit with the user interface unit. The patient monitor can be configured to switch between invasive and minimally invasive monitoring of hemodynamic parameters of a patient, using invasive measurements to calibrate minimally invasive measurements.
System and method for remote monitoring of a user's vital signs and bodily functions
A system and method for comprehensive remote monitoring of a user's vital signs and bodily functions includes a wearable monitor in bi-directional communication with a gateway element that communicates with one or more external devices to allow remote access to user vital sign and bodily function information.
STETHOSCOPE ACOUSTIC TUBING THAT IS DISCONNECTABLE INTO SEPARATE SEGMENTS
A stethoscope includes a headset including a first eartube terminating in a first earpiece and a second eartube terminating in a second earpiece, and a chestpiece having a diaphragm. The stethoscope further includes flexible acoustic tubing having a first tubing segment connected to the headset and a second tubing segment connected to the chestpiece. The first tubing segment is manually disconnectable from the second tubing segment, and the first tubing segment is manually connectable to the second tubing segment to align and seal the first and second tubing segments and form an acoustic passageway extending from the chestpiece through the first and second tubing segments and the first and second eartubes to the first and second earpieces. Optionally, the flexible acoustic tubing with the disconnectable and connectable segments may be provided as a replacement component for a stethoscope.
Remote delivery and monitoring of health care
Various embodiments for providing remote delivery and monitoring of health care are provided. In one embodiment, a portable apparatus for orthopedic monitoring of a patient is provided and comprises: a housing adapted for one of positioning adjacent to and positioning within an orthopedic cast; a diagnostic biomedical device integrated into the housing, wherein the diagnostic biomedical device is adapted for obtaining an orthopedic image of a portion of the patient treated with the orthopedic cast; and a wireless communications interface coupled to the diagnostic biomedical device, wherein the wireless communications interface is adapted to upload the orthopedic image to a remote server to be viewed by a medical professional.
Rotating Docking Station
An apparatus includes a base component having a center axis and at least two index positions. The apparatus also includes a rotational component coupled to the base component. The rotational component is configured to circularly maneuver about the center axis between the at least two index positions. A docking receptacle of the apparatus is coupled to the rotational component and is configured to receive a monitor having an electronic visual display. The apparatus also includes a handle configured to facilitate maneuvering of the rotational component.
Personal activity tracking system
An activity tracking device is defined to detect and record movement of a person to which the activity tracking device is affixed. A secondary electronic device is defined separate from the activity tracking device. The secondary electronic device is defined to receive data from the activity tracking device regarding the detected and recorded movement of the person. A website is defined to communicate with connected devices including the secondary electronic device. The website is defined to provide a user account for the person. The website is defined to convey information regarding the detected and recorded movement of the person through the user account.
Vein Scanner with Limited Photodiode FOV Moving Synchronously with Scanned Laser Light
A vein imager includes: a laser emitting a light beam in a first optical path; and scanner directing the beam to form a spot of light on the target, and scanning the beam to move the spot rapidly on the target. An optical element bounces the beam of light from the first optical path onto a second optical path, directing the beam at the scanner. The scanner directs an image portion, received from the target, along the second optical path toward the photodiode, the image portion being an afterglow formed by differential reflection and absorption of the scanned spot by surrounding tissue and blood vessels. A lens is positioned/configured to limit a size of the photodiode FOV to a portion of the target surface, which size encompasses only the spot size and a portion of the afterglow. The limited photodiode FOV thus moves synchronously with the scanned spot.
System and method for collecting clinical data associated with a medical apparatus including an implantable device
A system and method for collecting operation data associated with a medical apparatus including an internal device implanted in a subject and an external device that is magnetically-coupled to and drives the internal device. The medical apparatus may be monitored to obtain raw data associated with the operation of the medical apparatus and one or more calculations may be performed on the raw data, wherein the raw data and/or calculated values may be associated with voiding frequency and voiding volume of the subject. A report may be generated from the raw data and/or calculated values. In addition, one or more signals may be sent to the external device and/or a docking station, or communicated by other means, to indicate to the subject that the operation of the medical apparatus should be altered.
