Methods and Apparatus for Addressing Presbyopia
20220087522 · 2022-03-24 ·

Various presbyopia measurement systems are presented. Solutions include a consumer friendly system using a consumer's smart phone to present a test image. The test image by be viewed through a first lens, second lens and optional added lens such that the image is perceived to be approximately eight inches to two feet away from the consumer's eye. In addition to a lens system that may be attached to a consumer's smart phone, the systems presented include a presbyopia kit that my comprise an eyeglass kit comprising near vision attachments, mid vision attachments, clip on lenses and Plano frames. Disclosed systems include the use of the use of both the eyeglass kit and lens system that attaches to the consumer's phone.

Automated assessment of surgical competency from video analyses
11348682 · 2022-05-31 · ·

Systems and methods for analyzing surgical procedures and assessing surgical competency of subjects are disclosed. A method may include receiving a plurality of video frames associated with at least one surgical procedure and accessing stored data based on prior surgical procedures. The method may further include processing, using the stored data, the video frames to assess at least one of tissue handling, economy of motion, depth perception and surgical procedure flow in the video frames. Based on the assessment of at least one of tissue handling, economy of motion, depth perception and surgical procedure flow, a competency-related score for a subject may be generated. The method may further include selecting, from the video frames, at least one video clip from which the competency score was derived, outputting the score, and presenting in association with the at least one score, a link to the at least one video clip.

Content presentation in head worn computing

Aspects of the present invention relate to providing assistance to medical professionals during the performance of medical procedures through the use of technologies facilitated through a head-worn computer.

GLUCOSE ALERT PREDICTION HORIZON MODIFICATION

Data describing glucose measurements is received from a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system worn by a user and predicted glucose values during a future time period are generated for the user based on the data. A determination is made that at least one of the predicted glucose values satisfies a threshold value for an alert, which is associated with a prediction horizon that defines an amount of time prior to satisfaction of the threshold value for communicating the alert to the user. Output of the alert is caused responsive to determining that the at least one predicted glucose value satisfies the threshold value for the alert within the prediction horizon, relative to a current time. The prediction horizon is modified based on a user response to the alert. Output of a subsequent instance of the alert is caused based on the modified prediction horizon.

FOOT MOUNTED SYSTEM FOR OPERATING A MEDICAL DEVICE
20230389872 · 2023-12-07 ·

A system for controlling one or more functions of medical equipment comprises a plurality of sensors and/or switches carried on one or both shoes of a clinician and operable without requiring interaction by hands of the clinician. Through a primary input, the clinician can actuate a first sensor in order to select one of the functions of the medical equipment. A secondary input from the clinician, in which a sensor provides an actuation signal, will actuate the selected medical function.

Image analysis for detecting deviations from a surgical plane
11224485 · 2022-01-18 · ·

Systems, methods, and computer readable media related to detection in video of surgical instrumental deviations from surgical planes are disclosed. The methods may include receiving video frames from a surgical video feed. The frames are analyzed to identify a surgical instrument. The frames are evaluated with the identified surgical instrument to ascertain an interface area corresponding to a location of an interaction between the identified surgical instrument and tissue. Stored data is accessed characterizing a surgical plane corresponding to the interaction, and the stored data is used to determine whether the interface area is outside of the surgical plane. An out-of-surgical plane signal is outputted indicating a deviation from the surgical plane by the surgical instrument.

WEARABLE DEVICE WITH CONDUCTIVE TRACES AND INSULATOR

The present disclosure relates to a wearable device that includes a housing, battery terminal connector, conductive traces, and an insulator for recording signals. The device may include a housing enclosing a circuit board and a battery. The device may include two conductive traces electrically connected to terminals of the battery and an insulator separating the conductive traces. The battery terminal connector can present both the conductive traces to the outer surface for coupling to a circuit board. The device can assess the physiological signals to infer a likelihood of arrhythmia of a user.
