A device selected from microelectrode, temperature sensor, optical sensor, optical fibre, temperature control element, and microdialysis probe for insertion into soft tissue comprises a body with a distal terminal section and a layer of an agent such as gelatin capable of forming a gel with aqueous body fluid on the terminal section. The terminal section and the gel-forming layer have a temperature of more than 30° C. below body temperature during a period of time prior and up to insertion. Also disclosed is method of insertion, an insertion assembly and a use of the device.

ENDOSCOPY AUXILIARY DEVICE

An endoscopy auxiliary device includes an insertion tube and a clamping unit. The clamping unit has a pipe and a connector. The connector is connected to the insertion tube. The tube is configured to clamp a capsule endoscopy. The pipe has an inner space configured to accommodate a part of the capsule endoscopy. The pipe includes a first slit, a second slit and a third slit. The first slit extends from a free end of the pipe for a first distance toward a connection end of the pipe. The second slit extends from the free end of the pipe for the connection distance toward the connection end of the pipe. The third slit extends from the free end of the pipe for a third distance toward the connection end of the pipe. The first slit, the second slit and the third slit are separated from each other.

BIOSENSOR INSERTER APPARATUS AND METHODS

A biosensor inserter includes a push member with a push element, a contact member including a latch, a transmitter carrier supporting a transmitter and sensor assembly, and a pivot member having a latch end, the pivot member supporting an insertion device during biosensor insertion. In operation, the push member is telescoped axially by the user relative to the contact member, which is provided in contact with a user's skin. This pushes the push element against the pivot member and translates the transmitter carrier during insertion of the biosensor. During a first portion of a stroke of the insertion device, insertion of the biosensor is accomplished, and the pivot member is prevented from pivoting. In a second portion of the stroke, after latch end moves past the latch, the pivot member is allowed to pivot and the insertion device is retracted. Other system and method embodiments are provided.

Injector for transcutaneously introducing a sensor into a patient

An injector for transcutaneously introducing a sensor into a patient, including a cannula, a base element, a sliding element arranged displaceably on the base element, for transcutaneously introducing the cannula into the patient in an injection direction, and including an ejection element for automatically pulling the cannula out of the patient counter to the injection direction by the ejection element in an ejection operation. The injector has a locking element for the ejection element such that, in a delivery state, the ejection element is lockable in an energy-charged state, and the sliding element and the locking element are configured to interact indirectly or directly in order, in an injection state, when the cannula is introduced transcutaneously into the patient, to release the locking of the ejection element in order automatically to start the ejection operation.
