RESTORER PLANTS
Hybrid cereals are described which are obtained by restoring the pollen fertility for the Pampa cytoplasmic male sterility (P-CMS) and which are characterized by a reduced linkage drag. Plants are provided, in particular rye, which, as the male pollen parent, are capable of restoring the pollen fertility for the P-CMS. Furthermore, the nucleic acid molecule which carries the necessary information for restoring the P-CMS, DNA and vectors which contain such a nucleic acid molecule, corresponding host cells as well as a protein which can be encoded by the nucleic acid molecule and antibodies directed against it are also described. Furthermore, methods for the production of corresponding hybrid plants and transgenic plants are provided.
Nucleotide sequence encoding 9-lipoxygenase and recombinant constructs comprising the same
The present invention provides a polynucleotide having the nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 encoding 9-lipoxygenase. The present invention also provides recombinant plasmid expression vector comprising said polynucleotide. The recombinant protein 9-lipoxygenase encoded by the polynucleotide leads to production of lactones in fruits such as mangoes.

METHODS, COMPOSITIONS, AND MEDIA FOR IMPROVING PLANT TRAITS
Methods of predicting in planta phenotypes of microbial strains are provided. The methods can include culturing microbial strains in a plant exudate medium and assaying in vitro phenotypes of the microbial strains. The methods may also include using the in vitro phenotypes to predict in planta phenotypes of the microbial strains. Methods of using the microbial strains in field trials are also provided.
Cleavable peptides and insecticidal and nematicidal proteins comprising same
A peptide comprised of either a binary or a tertiary peptide, the peptide contains at least 4 amino acids and up to a maximum of 16 amino acids, comprised of 2 or 3 different regions, wherein the binary peptides have 2 different regions and the tertiary peptides have 3 different regions; wherein, the peptide can be cleaved by both an animal gut protease and an insect or nematode gut protease.
Antibody fusion protein and related compositions for targeting cancer
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising a polypeptide with at least two domains, wherein the first domain is capable of binding CD3 and the second domain is capable of binding to a cancer cell. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating cancer in a subject, comprising: providing a composition comprising a polypeptide with at least two domains, wherein the first domain is capable of binding CD3 and the second domain is capable of binding to a cancer cell; and treating the cancer by administering a therapeutically effective dosage of the composition to the subject.

Host cell expression of 4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde synthase for production of salidroside, icariside D2, and precursors
Transgenic host cells, vectors useful for making transgenic host cells, and kits useful for making transgenic host cells are described. Also described are transgenic plants. In some embodiments, transgenic host cells express a 4-hydroxyphenylacetaldehyde synthase (4HPAAS). In some embodiments, transgenic host cells express a tyrosol:UDP-glucose 8-O-glucosyltransferase (T8GT). The transgenic host cells are useful for biosynthesis of one or more of salidroside, icariside D2, tyrosol, and 4-hydroxypenylacetaldehyde.
METHODS AND COMPOSITION FOR TRANSFERRING T-DNA INTO A PLANT
The present disclosure provides a series of mutant Agrobacterium strains generated by random mutagenesis of a wide-type or ω mutant VirD2 gene or VirD2 protein. The mutant Agrobacterium strains of the present disclosure transiently express T-DNA-encoded transgenes in a target plant but do not stably integrate these genes into the plant genome.
