Endodontic tool and method
A reciprocating endodontic hand tool in which the torque applied to an instrument such as a debriding file can be set at or below an endurance limit of the file below which failure of the instrument will not occur. In preferred embodiments the tool can switch between settings in which the torque applied to the instrument is between the endurance limit of the file and an elastic limit of the file, by setting forward and reverse angles of rotation within specified limits. This reduces or eliminates opportunities for plastic distortion, fatigue and breakage of the file during the canal debriding/cleaning/shaping process in a root canal treatment or retreatment. In some embodiments the torque may be set to at or below a durability limit of the file below which failure of the instrument will not occur through repetitive strain over the course of a particular root canal treatment or retreatment.
Hand piece for dental or surgical applications
A handpiece for dental or surgical applications has a chuck for rotatably clamping a tool such as a bur, the chuck being drivingly connectable to a drive mechanism such as to rotate the tool about a rotation axis thereof, a push button operatively connected to the chuck, configured to release the tool from the chuck upon depressing the push button, a spherical element, preferably a ball, fitted within or mounted at the push button, arranged and configured such that, when the push button is depressed, the spherical element enters into contact with the chuck, the spherical element being of a material with a high hardness on the Vickers scale of >2000.
Interproximal Reduction Tool And Method
An interproximal reduction tool and method preferably includes at least one polishing strip; at least one abrasive wheel; and a low speed and high torque dental electric motor. First, the area between two adjacent teeth is manually polished with a plurality of polishing strips. The polishing strip is held between a forefinger and thumb and moved in a horizontal plane. Each abrasive wheel preferably includes an abrasive disc and a shaft. The abrasive disc includes a disc base and abrasive material. The abrasive material is adhered to opposing sides of the disc base. It is preferable to have an annular space between an outer edge of the disc base and an outer perimeter of the annular abrasive material. The low speed/high torque motor preferably utilizes an existing dental motor and modifies the dental motor to have a preferable gear reduction of at least 16:1.
Shaft of a dental tool
The present invention refers to a shaft of a dental tool comprising a distal end region, a cylindrical shaft region adjoining the distal end region, and a proximal end region which lies opposite the distal end region and which is provided with a polygonal profile that tapers conically in the direction of the distal end region and adjoins a tool part.
Device for holding medical instruments and method of using same
A holder for medical/dental instruments and method of using the holder. The holder may include a body, including a first surface and a second surface. The holder may further include a ridge formed along a length of the first surface of the body; a wall portion formed along the length of the first surface of the body and extending vertically therefrom, wherein the wall portion may be parallel to and spaced apart from the ridge; and a plurality of grooves formed in the ridge.
DENTAL OR SURGICAL HANDPIECE WITH AN RFID TRANSPONDER
The invention provides for a dental or surgical handpiece with an elongated handle sleeve (110) and a head piece (50) attached to the front end of the handle sleeve (110) that serves to to detachably receive a dental tool as well as for a clamping mechanism (20) formed in the head piece (50) to detachably hold the tool, the clamping mechanism (20) having a push-button (10) for actuating the clamping mechanism (20). The handpiece further has an RFID transponder (5) for identifying the handpiece. The push-button (10) consists of a heat-insulating electrically non-conductive plastic or m ceramic material with a plate-shaped recess that holds the RFID transponder (5). The push-button (10) has a flat round shape so that the RFID transponder (5), because of the equally flat round shape of its coil, can be integrated very well into it. Particularly advantageous ambient electrical conditions can be achieved for the RFID transponder as the push-button (10) is made of an electrically non-conductive material. An advantageous thermal insulation is provided as the push-button (10) is made of a heat-insulating material.
COMPONENTS FOR USE WITH A SURGICAL GUIDE FOR DENTAL IMPLANT PLACEMENT
The present invention relates to dental components used for guiding the insertion of a dental implant into a desired location in a patient's mouth using a surgical guide including a master tube. The present invention includes various components that can be used with the surgical guide and during a dental procedure using the surgical guide.
IMPLANT SURGERY DRILL
An implant surgery drill capable of preventing accidents in advance by actively reinforcing coupling force between a cutting part for cutting the alveolar bone and a connecting part for connecting the cutting part to a handpiece is proposed. The drill can include a cutting part having a plurality of cutting blades that comprise saw teeth and are aligned in a circular shape so as to perforate the alveolar bone; and a connecting part interposed between the handpiece and the cutting part, wherein, specifically, the cutting part including: the saw teeth aligned in a circular shape at the upper end thereof; a cutting upper part extending downward from the saw teeth; and a cutting lower part protruding downward from the cutting upper part with an expanded diameter.
