DENTAL TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME
In a dental treatment apparatus, a control circuit controls a drive motor in accordance with a drive sequence. The drive sequence includes a plurality of drive patterns and at least one of the plurality of drive patterns is different from other drive pattern. The plurality of drive patterns include at least one drive pattern having such drive that a cutting tool is rotated in a cutting direction for cutting a treatment portion and drive for rotating the cutting tool in a non-cutting direction which is reverse to the cutting direction.
NON-CIRCULAR ENDODONTIC INSTRUMENTS
An endodontic instrument includes a cutting portion having upper and lower ends spaced apart along an axis, a cutting surface extending helically along the axis, and a non-contact surface extending helically along the axis. A cross section of the cutting portion in a plane perpendicular to the axis has a non-circular circumference. The cutting surface extends about a first portion of the non-circular circumference, and the non-contact surface forms a linear segment that extends about a second portion of the non-circular circumference. The cutting portion can further include a second cutting surface extending helically along the axis, and a second non-contact surface extending helically along the axis.

DENTAL HANDPIECE SYSTEM
The purpose of the present invention is to enable safer treatment and to reduce variation of treatment effects in root canal treatment using a dental handpiece, regardless of operator's skill level. The present invention is a dental handpiece system including a handpiece and a rod-shaped cutting tool, in which the handpiece includes a handpiece body and a head part provided at a tip of the handpiece body, the rod-shaped cutting tool is rotatably attached to the head part of the handpiece and is used to cut a root canal, and the dental handpiece system detects at least one selected from the group consisting of a force applied to the handpiece from an external matter in an axial direction of the cutting tool and an acceleration of the handpiece in the axial direction of the cutting tool when cutting the root canal.

ENDODONTIC HAND FILE AND METHODS FOR ATTACHMENT
A dental instrument is designed to help facilitate the procedure of root canal therapy and can reduce the inaccuracies that are accompanied with using traditional methods of attaching an electronic apex location (EAL) to an endodontic hand file. The endodontic hand file can include an exposed window in the handle of the file that holds an extension of the main body of the file. The clasp from the EAL can attach to this exposed metal in the window of the handle. This new location for attaching the EAL to the hand file can provide an accurate measurement while removing variables such as file movement in the canal, stopper thickness, clearance from the opposing tooth. The endodontic hand file with its exposed window provides a safe, reliable and accurate way of using an EAL to measure the root canal length.

Access guide and drill kit to be used with same for endodontic access cavity preparation and method of use
A set of drill bits and/or burrs for attaching to a hand piece and fitting into an access guide during endodontic access cavity preparation is provided. The drill bits are optionally grouped into two types: a high speed, friction grip attachment type drill bit and a slow speed, latch attachment type drill bit. Each of the drill bits has a different longitudinal length for performing different functions during operation procedures. A method of performing an endodontic access cavity preparation with the set of drill bits is also provided.
