Fabrication and installation of a dental implant
A dental implant for supporting periodontal tissue and the supporting bone is provided. The dental implant includes an implant member with inner canal for insertion into a periodontal bone socket, and an anchoring assembly. The anchoring assembly includes a first fastening element and radially equidistant cylindrical members. The first fastening element engages the implant member within the hollow axial cavity. The root section includes through-holes for radially and forcibly sliding the cylindrical members through them. When the first fastening element apically advances within the hollow axial cavity, the cylindrical members generate an anchoring force to anchor the dental implant.
DENTAL IMPLANT SYSTEMS, KITS CONTAINING DENTAL IMPLANT COMPONENTS, AND METHODS OF INSTALLING SAME
A method of installing a dental prosthesis that includes having a practitioner install at least one narrow implant and at least one standard implant into a subject's bone, where the narrow implant has a narrow implant abutment that is exposed after installation, and the standard implant has a standard implant abutment exposed after installation. The practitioner places a narrow implant housing over each narrow implant abutment, and places a standard implant housing over each standard implant abutment. The practitioner flows a resin within a channel located within a dental prosthesis and places the dental prosthesis over each narrow implant housing and each standard implant housing such that the resin surrounds each narrow implant housing and each standard implant housing. Once the resin cures, each narrow implant housing and each standard implant housing is fixed within the resin and the resin is fixed within the dental prosthesis.
Condensing skeletal implant that facilitate insertions
A dental implant that facilitates insertion includes a body having a coronal end and an apical end opposite the coronal end. An implant-prosthetic interface region is provided adjacent the coronal end. A tapered region is adjacent the apical end. A variable profile helical thread extends along the tapered region. The thread becomes broader in the apical-coronal direction and higher in the coronal-apical direction. The threads include an apical side, a coronal side and a lateral edge connecting them. The variable profile thread includes an expanding length of the lateral edge while the distance of the lateral edge from the base is reduced in the direction of the coronal end. The implant also has a gradual compressing tapered core, a self drilling apical end with a spiral tap, and a coronal end with and inverse tapering.
Osseointegrative surgical implant
Embodiments of the present invention provide an osseointegrative implant and related tools, components and fabrication techniques for surgical bone fixation and dental restoration purposes. In one embodiment an all-ceramic single-stage threaded or press-fit implant is provided having finely detailed surface features formed by ceramic injection molding and/or spark plasma sintering of a powder compact or green body comprising finely powdered zirconia. In another embodiment a two-stage threaded implant is provided having an exterior shell or body formed substantially entirely of ceramic and/or CNT-reinforced ceramic composite material. The implant may include one or more frictionally anisotropic bone-engaging surfaces. In another embodiment a densely sintered ceramic implant is provided wherein, prior to sintering, the porous debound green body is exposed to ions and/or particles of silver, gold, titanium, zirconia, YSZ, α-tricalcium phosphate, hydroxyapatite, carbon, carbon nanotubes, and/or other particles which remain lodged in the implant surface after sintering. Optionally, at least the supragingival portions of an all-ceramic implant are configured to have high translucence in the visible light range. Optionally, at least the bone-engaging portions of an all-ceramic implant are coated with a fused layer of titanium oxide.
System, device and method for restoring the use of a damaged dental implant
A system, device and method for restoring the use of a damaged dental implant. The system, device and method utilizes a dual thread fixation screw capable of coupling an abutment or abutment assembly to the damaged dental implant, therein rescuing the damaged dental implant.
Dental implant system and method
An implant fixture is disclosed. The implant fixture contains an elongated shaft section, a head section, wherein the head section comprises at least one concave area for bone growth therein, and a protrusion extending from the head section.
Dental Implant
A novel non-metallic dental implant is provided. The implant comprises: i) a fixture to be inserted into bone, the fixture comprising a collar having a rough surface at the crest of the fixture and which tapers inwardly from a top to a neck wherein the diameter of the top is greater than the diameter of the neck, and a threaded body extending from the neck of the collar having an upper region and a lower region and comprising self-tapping threads, wherein the fixture comprises a bone compression region at the junction of the upper and lower regions of the threaded body at a site which is below the cortical bone when implanted, wherein the bone compression region comprises the widest diameter along the fixture's length; and ii) an abutment extending from the collar of the fixture. A kit comprising the dental implants is also provided.
DENTAL IMPLANT
A dental implant and a method of dental restoration. In one embodiment, the dental implant includes at least one root adapted to be inserted into a hole of a mandibular bone or a maxillary bone, and an abutment on top of the root adapted to mate with a crown. Each root may be a lattice scaffold configured to house bone grafting material. A bone grafting material may be inserted within the lattice scaffold to occupy vacant space within the root and the hole of the mandible/maxilla. A method of dental restoration may include obtaining an image of at least a portion of a mandibular bone or a maxillary bone of a patient, drilling a hole into the mandibular bone or maxillary bone, inserting a one-piece dental implant with an abutment and one or more non-threaded roots into the hole, and installing a crown on the abutment of the one-piece dental implant.
Dental implants
A dental implant, including a generally cylindrical body having a proximal open end and a distal closed end and an externally threaded surface, a socket extending distally from the proximal end and terminating at a proximally facing shoulder and an internally threaded hole extending distally from the proximally facing shoulder and a curved portion formed between the proximally facing shoulder and the internally threaded wall.
DENTAL PROSTHESIS
Dental prosthesis comprising a dental implant comprising an external thread for screwing the dental implant into a jawbone and an internal thread arranged inside the dental implant. The dental prosthesis further comprises a superstructure having an internal bore and a screw for fastening the superstructure to the dental implant. The screw has a screw head with a cylindrical or conical lateral surface and a shank which adjoins a lower end of the screw head and on which an external thread is arranged. In an assembled state of the dental prosthesis, the screw is inserted through the internal bore of the superstructure into the dental implant and the external thread of the screw engages the internal thread of the dental implant. The screw head comprises a convexly rounded chin between the cylindrical or conical lateral surface and its lower end, with which chin the screw abuts the superstructure in the internal bore in the assembled state of the dental prosthesis.
