Ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond precision cutting tool and manufacturing method therefor

An ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond precision cutting tool and a manufacturing method therefor. A diamond cutter is made of a thick self-supporting film of ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond, the thick film having a thickness of 100-3000 microns, where 1 nanometer≤diamond grain size≤20 nanometers. In the manufacturing method, the growth of ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond on a silicon substrate is accomplished by means of two steps of direct current hot cathode glow discharge chemical vapor deposition and hot filament chemical vapor deposition, then the silicon substrate is separated from the diamond to obtain a thick self-supporting film of ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond, the thick self-supporting film of ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond is laser cut and then welded to a cutter body, and then by means of edging, rough grinding and fine grinding, an ultra-fine nanocrystalline diamond precision cutting tool is obtained.

HIGH-SPECIFIC SURFACE AREA AND SUPER-HYDROPHILIC GRADIENT BORON-DOPED DIAMOND ELECTRODE, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME AND APPLICATION THEREOF

A high-specific surface area and super-hydrophilic gradient boron-doped diamond electrode is disclosed. The electrode directly uses a substrate as an electrode matrix; or a transition layer is disposed on a surface of the substrate and used as the electrode matrix. A gradient boron-doped diamond layer is disposed on a surface of the electrode matrix, and a contact angle of the electrode is θ<40°. The gradient boron-doped diamond layer includes: a gradient boron-doped diamond bottom layer, a gradient boron-doped diamond middle layer, and a gradient boron-doped diamond top layer, a boron content of which gradually increases, so the gradient boron-doped diamond layer has high adhesion, high corrosion resistance, and high catalytic activity. The high-content boron of the top layer is combined with a one-time high-temperature treatment, so the gradient boron-doped diamond electrode has a high-specific surface area and superhydrophilicity, which may greatly improve the mineralization and degradation efficiency of the electrode.

A coated tool, such as a rotating, cutting tool, includes a tool body and a multilayer wear protection coating system. The wear protection system coats a functional surface of the tool body that is subject to wear and includes a first undoped diamond layer and a second undoped diamond layer disposed over the first undoped diamond layer. The first undoped diamond layer is electrically conductive and exhibits grain boundary conductivity from delocalized electrons. The second undoped diamond layer is electrically insulating. The first undoped diamond layer is 4-20 microns thick and is made with diamond grains whose size ranges from 4-10 nm. The first and second diamond layers are applied by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using a hot-wire method. The wear protection system also includes an additional undoped diamond layer that is electrically insulating and is disposed between the functional surface of the tool body and the first diamond layer.

The diamond coated tool of the present invention is a diamond coated tool including a base material and a diamond layer coating a surface of the base material, and characterized in that the surface of the base material has an arithmetic average roughness Ra of not less than 0.1 μm and not more than 10 μm and an average length of roughness profile elements RSm of not less than 1 μm and not more than 100 μm, and that the diamond layer has a plurality of cavities extending from a portion bordering on the base material in a crystal growth direction.

Method of Manufacturing Diamond Substrate, Diamond Substrate, and Diamond Composite Substrate

A method of manufacturing a diamond substrate includes: forming an ion implantation layer at a side of a main surface of a diamond seed substrate by implanting ions into the main surface of the diamond seed substrate; producing a diamond structure by growing a diamond growth layer by a vapor phase synthesis method on the main surface of the diamond seed substrate, after implanting the ions; and performing heat treatment on the diamond structure. The performed heat treatment causes the diamond structure to be separated along the ion implantation layer into a first structure including the diamond seed substrate and failing to include the diamond growth layer, and a diamond substrate including the diamond growth layer. Thus, the method of manufacturing a diamond substrate is provided that enables a diamond substrate with a large area to be manufactured in a short time and at a low cost.
