Multi-depth film for optical devices
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to forming multi-depth films for the fabrication of optical devices. One embodiment includes disposing a base layer of a device material on a surface of a substrate. One or more mandrels of the device material are disposed on the base layer. The disposing the one or more mandrels includes positioning a mask over of the base layer. The device material is deposited with the mask positioned over the base layer to form an optical device having the base layer with a base layer depth and the one or more mandrels having a first mandrel depth and a second mandrel depth.
Coating having solar control properties for a substrate, and method and system for depositing said coating on the substrate
The present invention relates to coating glass for architectural or automotive use, either monolithic or laminated, having solar control properties. The coating consists of several layers of different metal oxide semiconductors (TiO.sub.2, ZnO, ZrO.sub.2, SnO.sub.2, AlO.sub.x) and a layer of metallic nanoparticles, which when superimposed on a pre-established order give the glass solar control properties. In particular the use of protective layers of n-type semiconductors around the metallic nanoparticles layer. It also relates to the method for obtaining the coating by means of the aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition technique, using precursor solutions containing an organic or inorganic salt (acetates, acetylacetonates, halides, nitrates) of the applicable elements and an appropriate solvent (water, alcohol, acetone, acetylacetone, etc.). The synthesis is performed at a temperature between 100 and 600° C. depending on the material to be deposited. A nebulizer converts the precursor solution into an aerosol which is submitted with a gas to the substrate surface, where due to the temperature the thermal decomposition of the precursor occurs and the deposition of each layer of the coating occurs.
BARRIER LAYER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BARRIER LAYER SYSTEM
A layer system includes barrier properties against oxygen and water vapor. There may be an alternating layer system of at least two aluminum oxide layers and at least two titanium oxide layers. The aluminum oxide layers and the titanium oxide layers are deposited alternately on top of one another. The aluminum oxide layers and the titanium oxide layers are deposited by ALD layer deposition with a layer thickness of 5 nm to 20 nm. A first Parylene layer is deposited with a layer thickness of 0.1 μm to 50 μm on a first side of the alternating layer system by CVD.
Flow Control System for a Deposition Reactor
A system, apparatus and method are provided for processing articles. The system includes subsystems for synthesizing, pre-treating, conducting a vapor phase coating process and post-treating articles in the form of powders and solid or porous workpieces. The apparatus permits vapor phase synthesis, treatment and deposition processes to be performed with high efficiency and at high overall throughput. The methods include converting solids, liquids or gases into gaseous and solid streams that can be separated or exchanged with or without treatment and/or coating steps, and produce optimized composite articles for specific applications.
Methods of protecting metallic components against corrosion using chromium-containing thin films
Methods for depositing protective coatings on aerospace components are provided and include sequentially exposing the aerospace component to a chromium precursor and a reactant to form a chromium-containing layer on a surface of the aerospace component by an atomic layer deposition process. The chromium-containing layer contains metallic chromium, chromium oxide, chromium nitride, chromium carbide, chromium silicide, or any combination thereof.
CYCLOHEPTATRIENE MOLYBDENUM (0) PRECURSORS FOR DEPOSITION OF MOLYBDENUM FILMS
Molybdenum(0) coordination complexes comprising at least one cycloheptatriene ligand and optionally one or more neutral ligands which coordinate to the metal center by carbon, nitrogen or phosphorous are described. Methods for depositing molybdenum-containing films on a substrate are described. The substrate is exposed to a molybdenum precursor and a reactant to form the molybdenum-containing film (e.g., elemental molybdenum, molybdenum oxide, molybdenum carbide, molybdenum silicide, molybdenum nitride). The exposures can be sequential or simultaneous.
ANTIMICROBIAL NANOLAMINATES USING VAPOR DEPOSITED METHODS
Methods for making nanolaminates using Vapor Deposited methods such as Chemical Vapor Deposition and Physical Vapor Deposition, which can be applied on various surfaces, including glass, the soft polymeric material, or surgical instruments, as well as synthetic, composite, and organic materials. Methods of manufacturing nanolaminates by employing sequential surface reactions, wherein the antimicrobial coatings are provided by employing an Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) process, thermal spray and or aerosol assisted deposition.
Films including a water-soluble layer and a vapor-deposited inorganic coating
Methods for making films including a water-soluble polymeric material and a vapor-deposited inorganic coating are disclosed. The method comprises providing a layer of water-soluble polymeric material and vapor depositing an inorganic coating to at least one surface of the layer of water-soluble polymeric material, wherein the inorganic coating comprises a metal oxide. The method further comprises forming a plurality of microfractures extending along the surface of the inorganic coating.
