A dental device to be placed in the oral cavity between the lower teeth and the tongue for use as a combined saliva/fluids ejector and tongue deflector/retractor in dental treatments, comprising: a substantially flat head portion with hollow tubing on a portion of its periphery, and suction holes (preferably oval-shaped and protected from soft tissue entrapment by raised ribs) and in communication with the hollow tubing; a body portion provided with a bore and a ratchet mechanism, the bore in communication at its upper end with the hollow tubing and at its lower end with a suction system; and an arm having a collar adapted to adjustably engage with and disengage from the teeth of the ratchet mechanism. The cross sections of the collar and ratchet mechanism portion of the body are essentially square in shape.

A dental device is disclosed for applying medicine to a patient's teeth. The device includes a handle having a distal end and a proximal end. The handle has a handle lumen extending from the distal end towards the proximal end. The handle also has a suction exit port that is fluidly connected to the handle lumen. A fork is connected to the handle at the distal end. The fork includes a fork base with at least two prongs, wherein each prong has a suction port that is fluidly connected to the handle lumen through a prong lumen. Floss is strung across the two prongs.

A dental suction arrangement which removes saliva and other fluids from a person's oral cavity. The suction arrangement includes a suction tube and an absorption body to be placed in the oral cavity. The suction tube includes a suction part which is arranged in the absorption body and which is equipped with a hole organs or elements communicating with the absorption body. The suction arrangement is made of elastically deformable material in order to adapt to the anatomical shape of the bottom of the mouth.

A saliva injector appliance that includes an elongate member having a scoop with channels at its distal end. Clamps or the like hold the appliance against and to a saliva ejector such that the end of the injector is spaced a small distance rearward from the end of the scoop, and the scoop and the channels direct fluid into the injector and push tissue out of the way during a dental procedure. The elongate member has a rigid or semi-rigid construction and holds the saliva ejector at the desired position and angle as directed by a practitioner grasping the rear handle portion of the elongate member.

Provided herein is a retraction device for retracting soft tissue from the dental surfaces in the oral cavity of a patient. The retraction device is comprised of a topology conformable structure, where the topology conformable structure is adaptable to be delivered to the oral cavity in a constrained shape. The device can then undergo a conformation change in the oral cavity, where the device transforms into its unconstrained shape. The unconstrained shape of the device creates a useable working field in the oral cavity. The useable working field can provide increased accessibility to and/or visibility within the oral cavity. Also provided herein are methods for using the device and kits.

A saliva injector appliance that includes an elongate member having a scoop with channels at its distal end. A siphoning device suited for automatically removing fluid/blood from a surgical site is described, having a length of sterile flexible tubing that is configurable into a loop, the tubing having a first open end, a second open end, and a central portion. A plurality of holes punctuate the circumference of either the first open end or the central portion of the loop, the one or more sets of holes being distributed along a longitudinal direction of the tubing. A sterile absorbent covering encompasses the one or more sets of the plurality of holes, the covering being permeable to bodily fluids. The siphoning device is connected to a vacuum system that generates a negative pressure, causing fluids that have accumulated in the absorbent covering to be withdrawn into the vacuum system. Accordingly, a durable, simple non-gauze system for automatically clearing blood/fluid from a surgical site is described.

A suction member for a high-volume evacuator (HVE) suction tool used in dental procedures. The suction member has a connection portion at a proximal end, a tubular portion connected to the connection portion, and a suction tip connected to the tubular portion at a distal end. The suction tip includes a plurality of distally protruding lobes and open-ended peripheral vent openings alternating about its circumference. The distal ends of the lobes are generally aligned in an oblique distal tangent plane inclined relative to a longitudinal axis of the tubular portion. The vent openings are spaced closer together towards a front side of the suction member, and the lobes include a widest rear lobe that is useful for soft tissue retraction.
