Aqueous oral care solutions, methods, kits, and tooth surfaces having a coating derived from the oral care solution

An aqueous oral care solution, a kit that includes such solution, a method of making such solution, a method of using such solution (e.g., a method of providing fluoride to a patient's tooth surface), and a tooth surface having a coating derived from the aqueous oral care solution, wherein the oral care solution includes: silver cations; thiocyanatc anions provided by a thiocyanatc source comprising Ca(SCN)2; fluoride anions; and water; wherein the molar ratio of silver to thiocyanatc ions is up to 0.40:1, and water is up to 57 wt-%, based on the total weight of the solution.

Hand-held therapeutic oral device for cooling oral tissue of a user
11311364 · 2022-04-26 · ·

The invention is directed to a mouth piece for cooling of oral tissue of a patient during chemotherapy treatment. The mouth piece includes a cooling medium contained within the top element and the bottom element and able to retain a cooling environment within the mouth sufficient to reduce capillary blood flow to the patient's mouth. In one embodiment, an external chamber extends from the front of the mouth piece to house a cooling medium. A bladder is positioned inside the external chamber for storing a solution having a freezing temperature above the freezing point temperature of the cooling medium to assist in cooling the cooling medium.

ABSORBENT INSERTS FOR TOOTH CAVITIES
20210361384 · 2021-11-25 ·

An absorbent insert of compressed matrix of absorbent material, including a filler dispersed therein to improve stiffness/rigidity of the insert and controls the absorbency of the compressed absorbent material. The insert is pre-shaped and sized for inserting into a tooth cavity, such as a pulp chamber or a root canal space. The compressed insert expands or swells upon absorbing fluid within the tooth cavity, so as to more completely dry the tooth cavity. The absorbent insert also serves as a substrate of an applicator for medical agent to be applied to a tooth cavity. The absorbent insert is provided (e.g., coated or impregnated) with a medical agent, which medical agent is released into the tooth cavity as the absorbent material absorbs fluid in the tooth cavity.

Dental anesthetic delivery devices and associated methods

This disclosure relates to dental anesthetic delivery devices and associated methods for using the same. In certain embodiments, an anesthetic delivery device may comprise a pressure-driven needleless injector configured to deliver anesthetic deeply into the gingiva, allowing for a deep numbing and anesthetic effect and reducing pain from subsequent anesthetic injections and/or dental procedures. In some embodiments, the anesthetic delivery device may be T-shaped allowing for a shorter longitude axis length of the syringe body, improved clinician view of the oral cavity during use, single hand and/or ambidextrous use, and/or improved control during positioning.

Method and apparatus for applying an anesthetic and bactericide
11793944 · 2023-10-24 · ·

A method and an apparatus for applying an anesthetic that includes a receptacle having an upper end, a substantially hollow interior, a lower end having a tube or nozzle extending therefrom, and an attachment for attaching to the barrel of a syringe or vice versa. The receptacle receives a container or canister containing an endothermic gas or vapor (propellant) that rapidly absorbs heat when released to the atmosphere. A depressible actuating member or trigger propels the gas or vapor through an outlet nozzle that is oriented to project a stream of gas or vapor along a delivery axis that intersects a delivery axis of the needle, therefore, the gas or vapor can be successively delivered to an injection site with minimal repositioning of the housing.
