Method for controlling flow of sperms in a uterine tube
There is provided a method for controlling a flow of sperms in a uterine tube formed by a uterine tube wall of a patient. The method comprises gently constricting (i.e., without substantially hampering the blood circulation in the uterine tube wall) at least one portion of the uterine tube wall to influence the flow of sperms in the uterine tube, and stimulating the constricted wall portion to cause contraction of the uterine tube wall portion to further influence the flow of sperms in the uterine tube. The method can be used for restricting or stopping the flow of sperms in the uterine tube, or for actively moving the fluid in the uterine tube, with a low risk of injuring the uterine tube.
URINARY INCONTINENCE DEVICE
A urinary incontinence device is provided. The incontinence device may generally be comprised of a pouch having an absorbent material therein. An outer material, that is impervious to liquid, retains the absorbent material as well as any liquid excreted by the patient. The device may be further used in conjunction with a waist strap or harness to further support the device.
Vaginal insert method of manufacture
A method of manufacture for a vaginal insert. The vaginal insert may have a core, a cover, and a removal element. In various embodiments, the cover can be conformed to the vaginal insert.
Stress Urinary Incontinence Device
A stress urinary incontinence device is provided to limit or prevent leakage of urine in an individual. The device includes a body comprising an inner portion surrounded by an outer portion. The outer portion comprises biocompatible material and has a contact face opposing a guide face. The contact face is configured to occlude the urethral opening of the individual. A guide having an interior portion surrounded by an exterior portion projects from the guide face to aid in the application of the device onto the urethral meatus beneath the inner labia and above the vaginal opening of the individual. The device comprises materials that render it reusable.
Device for the external support of the female urethra under stress
Device for external directional support of the female urethra under stress, consisting of a rigid cushion (1) fixed to a rigid counter-support (2) placed in the rear part of a belt or briefs, and comprising a partial rear perineal support part, the rigid counter-support (2) being connected at the front by adjustable straps (2) supporting it to a belt (5) or briefs whose rear periphery is rigidified by an insert or other non-folding material.
Systems and methods for incontinence control
A system for managing female incontinence includes a body of biocompatible material configured to fit between the labia minora and the vestibule floor, the body having a surface configured to occlude the urethral meatus, an adhesive carried on at least a first portion of the surface and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, and a substance carried by at least one of the body and the adhesive and configured for controlling the odor of the general vaginal-urethral area of a female.
Expandable implant system
Various embodiments of a sling implant system are provided. Embodiments of the implants can include one or more collapsibility and expandability features or portions adapted to improve introduction and deployment of the implant within the patient. The implants can be folded, collapsed or otherwise reduced in size or construct to fit within a delivery tool or catheter for later expandability upon deployment of the implant.
System for treating a patient having an intestinal disorder
The present invention relates to a surgical method of treating a patient. The method involves cutting the patient's skin and abdominal wall, dissecting an area of the patient's intestine, cutting the patient's intestine so as to form an intestinal wall of a reservoir, implanting at least a pump as part of a flow control device so as to permanently reside inside the patient's body and to act on said intestinal wall so as to reduce the reservoir's volume in order to empty intestinal contents from the reservoir to outside the patient's body, and thereafter, permanently closing the abdominal wall and skin.
FECAL MANAGEMENT APPLICATOR AND ASSEMBLY
A fecal management applicator, a fecal management assembly, and a fecal management method are described herein. A fecal management applicator may include a handle portion, and a head portion extending from the handle portion. The head portion may include an inner head wall portion that extends axially from the handle portion and an outer head wall portion that extends radially outwardly from the inner head wall portion and curves over the inner head wall portion. The fecal management applicator may define a channel that extends continuously through the handle portion and the head portion along an entire axial length of the fecal management applicator.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INCONTINENCE CONTROL
A system for managing female incontinence includes a body of biocompatible material configured to fit between the labia minora and the vestibule floor, the body having a surface configured to occlude the urethral meatus, a first adhesive layer disposed on at least a first portion of the surface and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, and a second adhesive layer disposed over the first adhesive layer and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, wherein the second adhesive layer is removable from the first adhesive layer.
