Thrombectomy filter and method for performing a thrombectomy
A vascular filter system and method are disclosed. In one embodiment, the filter system comprises a dispensing needle, a guidewire and a catheter releasably attached to a filter dispenser which stores a length of filter wire. The filter wire dispenser has a guide tube which guides the filter wire into the catheter and then into a vein during surgical implantation. The filter wire is configured to form into a predetermined shape as it is deployed from the needle. The shape of the filter wire captures blood clots in the blood stream. The filter wire may be configured with a perforated section and a non-perforated section. Perforations are in fluid communication with an inner hollow lumen in the filter wire.
Endovascular device with expandable filter
The invention provides a filter assembly including a string or wire such that a lasso type cincture is effected, said filter being openable and closeable while in deployed within a bodily vessel. A string lengthen or shorting adjustment mechanism, such as a ratchet or reel allows more length of string into the device or alternatively to shorten the length of available string in the system. The described invention, when used to ameliorate venous clots and most arterio-venous dialysis grafts, a filter-tipped aspirator is used downstream from the clot to capture and remove dislocated emboli. A method of using same is disclosed.
Protection and actuation mechanism for controlled release of implantable embolic devices
A medical device system may include an elongate shaft having a lumen extending to a distal end of the elongate shaft, wherein a proximal portion of the elongate shaft is configured to disengage from a distal portion of the elongate shaft; a medical device disposed proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft; a release wire disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft, wherein the release wire releasably attaches the medical device to the distal end of the elongate shaft; and an introducer sheath slidably disposed over the elongate shaft, wherein the introducer sheath is configured to disengage the proximal portion of the elongate shaft from the distal portion of the elongate shaft.
VASCULAR FILTER SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DEPLOYMENT AND RETRIEVAL OF A VASCULAR FILTER
A vascular filter system for deploying a vascular filter utilizes a plurality of tensors that extend radially outward from a deployment sheath. The ends of the tensors are coupled with an attachment ring of the vascular filter and a plurality of attachment barbs are coupled with the attachment ring for securing the filter to the vessel wall. A method for retrieving the vascular filter from the vessel utilizes a reverse curve catheter, a guidewire that extends therethrough and an intravascular snare. The guidewire is advanced around the filter and into the snare which secures the guidewire around the filter for retrieval. A vessel distention device utilizes one or more distention tensors having a distention feature on the extended end, such as a blunt tip, to press on the inside vessel wall. The distention tensors extend out radially from a sheath to press on the vessel wall.
VIBRATING MEDICAL DEVICE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF RETRIEVING EMBEDDED IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
An implanted device, such as an inferior vena cava filter, that is partially embedded in soft tissue is retrieved by coupling a vibration device to the implanted device. The implanted device is disembedded from the soft tissue at least in part by generating a vibration with a vibration generator, transmitting the vibration along the vibration transmission apparatus to the implanted device, and vibrating the implanted device. The implanted device is then moved away from the embedding site. A medical device assembly includes the vibration generator, the implantable device and the vibration transmission apparatus.
INTRAVASCULAR GUIDEWIRE FILTER SYSTEM FOR PULMONARY EMBOLISM PROTECTION AND EMBOLISM REMOVAL OR MACERATION
An intravascular emboli capture and retrieval system for intravascular embolism protection and embolism removal or maceration. Guidewire mounted proximally and distally located multiple opening filters are deployed within the vasculature and used to part, divide and macerate embolic debris and to capture such embolic debris within the confines thereof. A deployable flexible preformed memory shaped capture sleeve is alternatively used to collapse one or more filters and embolic debris therein for subsequent proximal withdrawal from the vasculature.
AXIAL LENGTHENING THROMBUS CAPTURE SYSTEM
Systems and methods can remove material of interest, including blood clots, from a body region, including but not limited to the circulatory system for the treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), cerebrovascular embolism, and other vascular occlusions.
FILTER AND OCCLUDER SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS AND DEVICES
Various aspects of the instant disclosure relate to flow devices including filters and occluders for modifying flow in body conduits such as blood vessels. In some examples, such devices include a support structure and a flow media coupled to the support structure. The medical device generally further includes one or more capture features. In some examples, the capture features are coupled to the support structure at one or more of the proximal and distal ends of the support structure. In various examples, the capture features facilitate retrograde and antegrade deployment of the medical device and retrograde and antegrade capture of the medical device.
Methods and devices to ameliorate vascular obstruction
Methods for removing blockages and preventing thromboembolic injuries, by advancing to a blockage a first tubular, endovascular device receiving irrigating fluid through a proximal opening, having a circumferential wall, lumen, at least one distal side hole oriented angularly to a distal opening; ejecting fluid from the side hole(s) to irrigate a blockage; introducing a second catheter for aspiration, comprising a circumferential wall having a proximal and distal opening, a flared, semi-permeable filter at the distal end for removal of emboli through the second lumen; advancing the second device to a blood vessel receiving blood from the blocked vessel, aspirating the blockage, axially rotating the first endovascular device having at least one half-loop to macerate an obstruction, capturing and removing emboli from the blockage through the second endovascular device which prevents emboli from causing further blockage of blood vessels. Variants of said method including a third rotatable device.
System And Method For Implant Delivery
An implant delivery system is described. The implant delivery system utilizes an implant, implant wire, delivery sheath, and a torque device. The torque device may include a cutting element to slit the delivery sheath and a clamp device to fix the position of the implant delivery wire.
