A plant for production of cement clinker from raw meal, having a calciner for deacidification of the raw meal and a rotary furnace for sintering the deacidified raw meal to give cement clinker. The deacidified raw meal flows through a cyclone preheating stage into the rotary furnace. A reactor is provided upstream of the calciner on the flow path of the rotary furnace offgas to the calciner, to which an inlet for the rotary furnace offgas leads. A corresponding method of operating such a plant wherein fuel is added to the reactor in a superstoichiometric amount in relation to the residence time of the offgases in the reactor, such that carbon dioxide present in the offgases is reduced to carbon monoxide. At least one input air conduit for supplying input air, preferably coming from a tertiary air conduit, is provided at at least one point in the reactor.

Heat required by the pyrolysis conditions is supplied at least partly with solid fluidized bed material which passes through the pyrolyzer simultaneously as it is fluidized by fluidizing gas in the pyrolyzer. Condensable gaseous substances separated from the fuel are conveyed from the pyrolyzer to a condenser, in which they are separated as so-called pyrolysis oil in liquid form, and solid fluidized bed material taken from the pyrolyzer and containing combustible pyrolysis residue originating from the fuel is circulated through a gasifier, in which product gas, which is burnt in a boiler or a kiln, is formed from the pyrolysis residue.

A combustion device which carbonizes, pyrolysis or burns difficult fuels, is embodied as a pot reactor or gooseneck reactor in an inverted U-shape, and is positioned upstream of the calciner on the flow path of the exhaust gases from the rotary kiln to the calciner, and has a gas outlet that opens out above a tertiary-air line of the clinker cooler into the calciner. As a result, it becomes possible to burn fuel which is lumpy and/or has poor ignitability, and the gases from incomplete combustion in the reactor are available in the calciner in gaseous form for further combustion.

The present invention relates to a method for incineration of combustible waste during the manufacture of cement clinker where cement raw meal is preheated and calcined in a preheater (1) with a calciner (3), burned into clinker in a kiln (5) and cooled in a subsequent clinker cooler (7), in which method the waste is incinerated in a separate compartment (9) subject to simultaneous supply of hot air, the exhaust gases produced during the waste incineration process being vented to the preheater for heating the cement raw meal, and the slag generated during the waste incineration process being extracted from the compartment, the waste is introduced via a waste inlet (11) onto a supporting surface (21) incorporated in the compartment (9) and in that, during incineration, the waste is transported through the compartment to the outlet (23) of the compartment along a circular path, characterized in that the compartment (9) is arranged at a distance from said calciner (3) or a preheater tower by means of a material chute (40), said material chute (40) enters a downward sloping duct, said duct carries exit gas from said compartment (9) and non-combustible material from waste fuel firing in said compartment (9) down into the calciner or preheater tower.

The present disclosure relates to a method of thermal treatment of air-dispersible raw material, especially cement raw meal and/or mineral products, wherein the raw material is introduced into a conduit through which hot gases flow and is subjected to thermal treatment by the hot gases and/or the radiant heat in the conduit, fuel is at least partly converted in a treatment region, and the heat generated in the treatment region is supplied at least partly to the conduit, and an oxygen-rich gas is introduced into the treatment region, wherein the oxygen content in the hot gas and/or the gas temperature is ascertained and the amount of oxygen introduced into the treatment region is adjusted by open-loop or closed-loop control depending on the temperature ascertained and/or the oxygen content.
