Surface treatments for ceramic coated/impregnated materials
The present invention relates to surface-treated prepreg composites and corresponding methods of surface treating an inorganic fabric to form a surface-treated fabric reinforced prepreg composite. The method comprises infiltrating an inorganic fabric with a first slurry mixture to form an infiltrated fabric; optionally drying the infiltrated fabric; infiltrating an inorganic paper with a second slurry mixture to form an infiltrated paper; optionally drying the infiltrated paper; and applying the infiltrated paper to at least one surface of the infiltrated fabric to form a surface-treated prepreg composite.

Turbine Engine Abradable Systems
In a method for forming an abradable material (36), the abradable material has at least 20% by volume rutile titania (44) and hBN (46). The method includes: blending a first titania powder having an oxygen debit of at least 5.0% with a second titania powder having an oxygen debit, if any, of less than 1.0%. The blend is thermal sprayed. The sprayed blend is then oxidized.

SELF-REINFORCED ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATINGS
A self-reinforced environmental barrier coating (EBC), methods of manufacturing the EBC, and articles comprising the EBC, are provided. The EBC is prepared from a composition of a rare earth silicate and an aluminum silicate at or near the eutectic point of the combination. The EBC forms a self-reinforcing fibrous phase that reduces or eliminates microcracks.
De-powdering of green samples using freezing method for additive manufacturing
A method for producing an article and a system associated with the method are provided. The method includes providing a green part, cooling the green part to a temperature below the freezing point of the ink to form a hardened mass and loosely-attached powder particles, and removing the loosely-attached powder particles. The green part includes powder particles, an ink, and optionally a binder. The loosely-attached powder particles removed from the green part may be recycled and reused.
Glass-Ceramic Material
A method of preparing a glass-ceramic material, the method comprising the steps of: (a) admixing a crystallisation promoter and a glass; wherein the glass has a median particle distribution (D.sub.50) of from 50 to 70 m; and (b) sintering the admixture obtained in step (a).
