Interchangeable pump-lock for prosthetic socket and method of use
An interchangeable lock-pump prosthetic system that includes a universal dummy, vacuum pump, and mechanical lock. Each of the three objects have similar geometries for the purpose of fitting into a prosthetic, whereupon a user may for instance, swap the vacuum pump with the lock, depending on the needs of the user and without changing to a separate prosthetic. The universal dummy is an inactive component and acts as a placeholder during manufacturing of the socket, for the eventual inclusion of the vacuum pump or mechanical lock. The vacuum pump is a pressure dependent object that acts to remove any residual air between the socket and the elastomeric liner. The lock takes advantage of a mechanical locking pin which receives a properly configured liner, thus securing the user within the prosthetic socket.
Prosthetic liner with external fabric seal
A prosthetic liner for use with a prosthetic socket that has a thermoplastic elastomeric (TPE) layer that is in contact with the amputee's residual limb. The TPE layer is not uniform in thickness but has ridges to extend circumferentially around the TPE layer. A fabric exterior layer covers the outer surface of the TPE layer conforming to the ridges and is used as a substrate to form a mechanical bond to an elastomeric material. Impregnating the elastomeric material within the fabric exterior occurs by applying an uncured material to the fabric exterior layer and onto at least the apex surfaces located within the sealing regions thereby creating an air tight boundary layer when inserted into a socket. When a vacuum is applied the air is evacuated from the volume below the seal layer.
FINGER PROSTHESIS WITH ADJUSTABLE BIOLOGICAL ACTIVATION
Prosthesis for at least one cut-off finger resulting in a stump at the height of the proximal, middle and/or distal phalange, or in a finger with missing stump. The prosthesis from a modular hinged mechanism allowing for a self-return flexion movement and the activation of said mechanism from at least one force applied to any point of a plane on said mechanism. A prosthesis for a hand with missing stumps is also provided from the wrist movement providing a range of operation greater than the art, wherein said flexion is activated from an extension movement of the wrist.
A FLEXIBLE MULTI USE POST OPERATIVE PROSTHETIC SOCKET SYSTEM
A prosthetic apparatus and system for a trans-tibial amputee consisting of a post-operative interface socket that can be adjusted to accommodate the size of an amputated limb and changes in size of the limb. The prosthetic apparatus includes a lower socket into which the post-operative socket can be inserted, the lower socket being adjustable for changes in size of the post-operative interface socket. The post-operative socket also has a removable upper back shell that immobilizes movement of the knee during an initial recovery phase but can be removed to allow the knee of the amputee to flex.
SUCTION LANYARD PROSTHESIS SUSPENSION SYSTEM
An apparatus for suspending a prosthesis from a residual limb comprises a tubular liner adapted to receive the residual limb. A lanyard is secured at one end to the distal end of the liner. A hollow prosthetic socket defines a well configured to receive the residual limb and includes a socket seal disposed at the distal end of the socket. An upper surface of the socket seal defines a recess opening to the exterior of the socket through a side wall. A sealing element disposed along the length of the lanyard is configured to engage within the passage. The free end of the lanyard is pulled through passage such that the sealing element sealingly engages within the passage for preventing fluid communication through the passage. The liner at least partially contacts the interior surface of the socket for providing a fluid seal and creating negative pressure within the socket.
Osseointegration system
Improved osseointegration devices and structures, including such structures that can be used in connection with prosthetic limbs. Examples include a self-centering implant/nut configuration, a centering device, a tapered mounting screw hole, a coupling device, and an aiming device. The devices are highly efficacious. For example, they can be secured with minimal residual bone, and may be removed without significant bone destruction.
Prosthetic Foot
The invention relates to a prosthetic foot comprising a main body (10), a proximal connection device (15) for connecting the prosthetic foot (1) to a further prosthesis component, and a foot-front component (12) which is pivotally mounted on the main body (10) and which is associated with a resistance device (20), which resistance device retards plantar flexion of the foot-front component (12), wherein the foot-front component (12) is mounted on the main body (10) via at least one resilient component (30, 31, 32) which moves the foot-front component (12) back into a starting position after a deflection.
BEARING ARRANGEMENT AND ORTHOPAEDIC DEVICE HAVING SAME
The invention relates to a bearing arrangement having a radial spherical plain bearing with an inner ring (10), which is arranged on a bolt (15) or pin and has a spherical outer contour (12), and with an outer ring (20), which has a hollow spherical inner geometry (22) for receiving the inner ring (10) and an outer geometry (21) for mounting in a bearing seat (30), wherein the inner ring (10) and the outer ring (20) are preloaded against one another in an axial direction via at least one preloading device (41, 42).
PROSTHESIS COSMETIC AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A prosthesis cosmetic having a main part made of a foam material and/or composite fiber material and a cavity formed in the main part for receiving a prosthesis component, wherein the main part has an outside facing away from the cavity, on which outside a textile layer is arranged, an adhesive being applied on the inside of the textile layer facing the main part and the textile layer being adhered or laminated on the outside of the main part.
Prosthetic Suspension Interfaces
A suspension interface having a fabric layer with an open proximal end and a closed distal end. The fabric layer can be knit or woven and is preferably made from a stretchable, breathable material such as nylon. At a pre-determined point along the length of the fabric layer, an external sealing element is affixed using conventional gluing means creating a bond layer. The suspension interface has an internal grip layer or external grip layer that is preferably silicone but may also be a thermoplastic material such as urethane. The internal or external grip layer can be as thick as one inch in thickness and as thin as 1/64 of an inch but is preferably about ⅛ of an inch.
