Heel Protector and Corresponding Rehabilitation Systems and Methods for Using the Same
A heel protector (100) includes a leg engaging section (101) and a foot engaging section (102) intersecting at a heel receiver (103). The leg engaging section (101) and the foot engaging section (102) define a leg insertion aperture (104). The leg engaging section (101) defines at least one aperture (203) disposed in an ankle region (205) to permit a connection tube (1002) extending from an inflatable bladder (901) of a compression device (800) to pass therethrough. The heel protector (100) and compression device (800) work together as a rehabilitation system (1300).
Joint brace with improved range of motion stop
An improved joint support for limiting the range of motion of an anatomical joint comprises intermeshing gears for allowing adjustment of the range of motion of the joint, and comprises plural mechanisms for securing the gears in engagement with one another, whereby adjustment can be made without tools and without disassembly of any components.
Orthopedic walking brace having a curved sole
Described herein are systems and devices for providing an orthopedic walking brace having a housing and a sole with a curved distal surface. The housing is configured to encompass and immobilize a patient's ankle against flexion. The distal surface of the sole has a posterior region, a mid region, and an anterior region. The posterior region is configured to lie under a heel portion of the patient's foot and has a first anterior-posterior (AP) curvature that increases from a posterior side of the posterior region toward a middle portion of the posterior region and decreases from the middle portion of the posterior region toward the mid region. The mid region is configured to lie under a center portion of the patient's foot. The anterior region is configured to lie under an anterior metatarsal and toe portion of the patient's foot and has a second AP curvature.
THERMOFORMABLE ORTHOSIS APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
An improved thermoformable orthosis apparatus for being selectively formed and applied and removed having offset zipper closures on two shell members for improved hinging and opening and access for initial application and forming when malleable and for removing and reinstalling when hardened.
LOWER EXTREMITY ORTHOSES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A lower extremity orthosis includes a foot engagement portion and an elongated positioning member. The foot engagement portion is configured to engage a patient's foot and includes opposing sidewalls extending from a sole-supporting surface configured to engage with a sole of the patient's foot. The elongated positioning member includes a foot-underlying portion and a lower leg-underlying portion, with the foot-underlying portion of the elongated positioning member serving to couple the elongated positioning member to the foot engagement portion. The lower extremity orthosis may be selectively and removably engaged with a heel offloading device via the lower leg-underlying portion of the elongated positioning member, such that the lower extremity orthosis is configured to prevent or reduce plantar flexion when the heel offloading device is used and the lower extremity orthosis is applied to the patient's foot.
ORTHOPEDIC WALKER
An orthopedic walker includes a body formed from at least one polymeric material and having a unitary construction. The body forms first and second portions divided by a median plane and connected to one another by a footbed. The first and second portions extend from the footbed and form an interior volume for receiving a foot and lower leg of a user. The first and second portions are arranged to articulate about or from the median plane to expand and retract the interior volume. The body consists of the first and second portions, and the footbed inclusive of an outsole having a tread as a continuous structure formed unitarily from the at least one polymeric material. The at least one polymeric material is an expanded thermoplastic.
Heel integration for a shoe
A combination, comprising: a shoe having an upper and a sole, wherein the shoe is configured to cover an instep of a foot of a wearer; and a heel integration system including an insert having a front end and a back end, the insert configured to be disposed in the shoe, and configured to receive an ankle-foot orthoses brace while the shoe is worn, the insert having a heel portion and an ankle portion, the ankle portion having a curved wall with at least one bulge formed therein,
wherein the bulge is created from an indentation formed on an interior surface of the ankle portion which forms a protrusion on an exterior surface of the ankle portion.
CAM WALKER WITH REMOVABLE COLLAR
A CAM walker includes a removable collar assembly configured to engage a cast or other brace device being worn on a lower extremity received in the walker. The collar assembly includes portions, such as paddles, configured to be brought into engagement with the brace device sufficiently to inhibit anterior and posterior movement of the proximal end of the walker relative to the proximal end of the lower extremity received therein.
ENVELOPING BODY WITH STIFFENING ELEMENTS
The invention relates to an enveloping body for at least partially enveloping a limb, having an enclosed volume and a connection for supplying and removing fluid to the volume or from the volume, wherein the enveloping body forms an inner circumference and an outer circumference; on the enveloping body reinforcement elements are arranged that are designed to be brought into contact as a result of the removal of fluid from the volume or to increase their contact with one another as a result of the removal of liquid.
Medical shoe having a plurality of outsole projections
A medical shoe having a plurality of outsole projections is provided. The medical shoe may include a sole assembly configured to support a foot, and a frame surrounding the sole assembly. The sole assembly may include a midsole portion forming a substantially planar surface for supporting the foot and an outsole portion including the plurality of outsole projections extending from the midsole portion. The frame may include a plurality of through holes corresponding to the plurality of outsole projections. The plurality of outsole projections may extend through the plurality of through holes so as to form a ground contacting surface. The plurality of outsole projections may also be provided in a symmetrical pattern. The sole assembly may be secured to the frame by a self-locking fit between the sole assembly and the frame.
