REMOTE CONTROLLED AND/OR TIME-LIMITED PERSONAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraining device comprised of electromagnets attached to a structure and steel pieces attached to a person's wrists that are controlled to restrain or release a person. This restraining device is wired to an enclosure with various electronic components that provide many ways of activating and deactivating the electromagnets of the restraining device. For example, it could be remotely controlled by another individual over the internet, but could also be configured to be used alone for self-restraint. A plurality of safety mechanisms, including a panic button, a countdown timer, a network polling mechanism and voice control can all be applied to make it possible for the person who is using this device to be released from their restraints.
LIMB RESTRAINT
A restraint system includes a restraint assembly and an anchor to releasably mount the restraint assembly to a component. The restraint assembly includes a tether and a cuff coupled to the tether. In addition, the restraint assembly includes a frangible cover operable to hold the tether and the cuff in a compact, stowed configuration and is sufficiently frangible to allow a person to tear open the cover. The tether is coupled to the anchor and when the cover is opened, the tether and the cuff are operable to be deployed from their stowed configuration, and the cuff extended from the anchor.
DIAPER CHANGING APPARATUS
A diaper changing apparatus that restrains an infant, child, or special need individual in a way that aids the caregiver's ability to manipulate his or her position and orientation to provide access to the diaper area during diaper changing activities. The apparatus allows the caregiver to easily lift the legs and buttocks, providing access to the underside of the infant, child, or special need individual for diaper changing activities. In some embodiments, adjustments to the height of the legs and buttocks and the separation of the legs may be made during a diaper change by moving a restraint of the apparatus in the direction of the desired adjustment. Some embodiments aid a caregiver by restraining the arms, chest, or torso to prevent the infant, child, or special needs individual from interfering with the diaper change, but without immobilizing him so much that the caregiver cannot easily adjust his position.
Protective and exercise hand restraint system and apparatus
Embodiments disclosed herein offer protective restraint of the hand by securing it with a wrist tie to a padded transparent hard-shell hand restraint with wrist tie slots, multiple ventilation holes, a detachable flexible soft under wrap and a hinging ball-bearing style attachment point for optional attachment to a restraint arm rod and staff-directed upward displacement for enhanced access to the hand, and slots for a resistance band tie for enhanced exercise and intermediate level of restraint and a rigid tie.
Positioning apparatus for biomedical use
A medical positioning apparatus including a telescopic member extending between first and second ends and having an adjustable length; a support member for receiving an object; a base member securable to a base; a first joint mechanism movably securing the support member to the first end of the telescopic member; a second joint mechanism including a housing with a top portion directly rotationally connected to the second end of the telescopic member, and at least one side portion directly rotationally connected to the base member and movably securing the base member to the second end of the telescopic member, a locking device operatively connected to the first and second joint mechanisms and the telescopic member, the locking device operable between a locked position and a released position; and a lock activation device to unlock the locking device biased in the locked position.
Orthopedic device for stabilizing the lower leg and enabling knee motion therapy
A support device provides elevation and support for a patient's foot and limits lateral and medial rotation of the foot relative to the knee. This protects the knee from injury during healing. The device includes a generally flat main body, two spaced-apart lateral ridges, and a medial depression between the lateral ridges that provides a support surface on which the foot may be positioned. The lateral ridges can extend to a height above the support surface so that inner side surfaces of the lateral ridges are adjacent to a majority of a foot placed in the medial depression. The support surface can include a heel aperture extending through the main body to provide a continuous heel pocket allowing the heel to remain freely suspended when the foot is placed in the device. The device can additionally or alternatively include a slidable base allowing the device to better slide on a surface enabling the user to perform therapeutic exercises.
Portable and readily dismantled human restraint sytem
A portable human restraint system is provided for use by those who practice an alternative sexual lifestyle known as dominance and submission or discipline and bondage. The restraint system includes a bondage frame that can be secured to any door of a room and easily dismantled into a compact size for storage or traveling. The bondage frame has a generally rectangular configuration formed by a top and a bottom cross member that are connected to a pair of laterally spaced vertical posts. The vertical posts are adjustable in height to allow the bondage frame to be extended if needed. A top and a bottom securement brace secure the bondage frame to the door through adjustable reduction sleeves. The reduction sleeves, being adjustable, allow the frame to be positioned further away from the door if needed. A variety of different restraining devices such as ankle and wrist cuffs can be directly or indirectly attached to various locations about the frame with the assistance of various mechanisms such as tie-down ropes and cleats, mountings rings, and spring loaded rings.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR BONE REPAIR PREPARATION
Apparatus and methods for preparing a fractured bone for repair. Preparing the bone may include fracture reduction. Preparing the bone may include holding a fracture in reduction. Preparing the bone may include identifying locations for obtaining access to an interior region of the bone. The apparatus may include structures outside the bone that interact with fragments of the bone. The structures may participate in the reduction. The structures may participate in holding the reduction. The structures may participate in identifying the locations.
THERAPEUTIC FOOTWEAR WITH SUPPORT DEVICE
A therapeutic footwear apparatus includes a boot and a lateral support device for laterally supporting the boot. The boot includes a lower leg support portion and a foot support portion. The lower leg support portion is configured to at least partially wrap a lower leg. The lateral support device has a mounting face abutted to a side wall of the lower leg support portion. The mounting face has a curved surface complementary to a curved shape of the side wall of the lower leg support portion.
