A non-injurious restraint for securing a person to an object comprising a flexible strap comprised of, or including a substantially cut-resistant webbing associated with a strip of steel interlinked rings and reinforcement cables. A locking mechanism including one or more projections or pins adapted to engage the interlinked rings in forming a fixed length loop. The strap adapted to be secured to the object with the loop adjusted to encircle the limb, and wherein the locking mechanism locks the length of the loop. A webbing for use in such restraints.

A patient grasps a handle grip of a repositioning device. The patient may be on a bed or a couch, for example, and wishes to pull the injured limb up onto the bed or couch without having to bend over. The device has a shaft, a handle grip on a proximal end of the shaft and a hook on a distal end of the shaft. The patient secures the hook to something that is about the limb, such as a cast, brace, bandage, or the like. Once the hook is secured, the user pulls the device upwardly to raise the limb. Once the user has positioned the limb as desired, the hook is disengaged.

A hinged ankle brace including a foot bed member and an ankle cuff which are hinged together by flexible joint members. The flexible joint members yieldably resist hinged movement between the foot bed member and the ankle cuff in a plantarflexion and dorsiflexion direction. Disc-shaped spacer-washers are positioned at the inner sides of the flexible joint members. The design of the upper ends of the medial and lateral wings of the foot bed member and the ankle cuff permits a limited amount of inversion and eversion movement between the foot bed member and the ankle cuff. The flexible joint members and the spacer-washers also permit a limited amount of inversion and eversion between the foot bed member and the ankle cuff.

Embodiments disclosed herein offer protective restraint of the hand by securing it with a wrist tie to a padded transparent hard-shell hand restraint with wrist tie slots, multiple ventilation holes, a detachable flexible soft under wrap and a hinging ball-bearing style attachment point for optional attachment to a restraint arm rod and staff-directed upward displacement for enhanced access to the hand, and slots for a resistance band tie for enhanced exercise and intermediate level of restraint and a rigid tie.

The invention provides a portable wearable trucker pillow. The pillow structure is poly fiber or foam padding. The trucker pillow functions to protect the arms, face, and upper body wearing pillows on each arm. The truck driver does have auto collision that causes flying glass and debris that causes facial and upper body injuries. The pillow also is an arm free device giving over the road truck drivers safety for DOT compliance a nonstationary arms free pillow. The pillow will be also used in sports activities as a protective barrier for face and upper body.

Devices to secure the hand of a patient to a limb positioning device while evenly distributing the applied traction load across the patient's hand and wrist are disclosed. The hand is placed in the open position into a soft mitten, while an anatomically-shaped plate is attached to the mitten for supporting the palm of the hand in the open position. Straps are then secured around the patient's wrist and hand. Finally, the entire device is overwrapped an elastic bandage and secured to the limb positioning device. When traction is applied, the shape of the plate, the construction of the mitten, and the straps combine to allow low-contact pressure across the patient's hand and wrist.

The invented robot provides necessary traction for reduction of foot bone fracture in surgical operation. This robot is equipped with four electrical motor and with aid of three linear and one rotational degree of freedom assists surgery team to align broken foot bone fragments in line precisely. Hence patient foot restores its desired direction during all different stages of operation with proper traction.

The removable restraint ring receptacle comprises a base for attachment to a furniture piece. The base adapted to receive a ligature resistant fastener. A restraint ring engaged by the fastener. A surgical boot system and sleeve accessory for hip distraction. The surgical boot system includes an L-shaped rigid shell having a proximal portion and a distal portion. A soft liner is attached to the rigid shell and extends along at least one of the proximal portion and the distal portion. The surgical boot system also includes at least one strap assembly (which can be a plurality of strap assemblies) extending around the rigid shell. A load transmission hoop is connected to and extends around the distal portion of the rigid shell and an attachment point is connected to the load transmission hoop. The rigid shell is pivotable about the attachment point. Specifically, the attachment point is configured to interface with a hip distractor apparatus in a way that allows for multiple degrees of freedom.
