Mattress with patient restraint stored inside
A patient restraining device is secured to a patient supporting structure, such as an ambulance cot, to more safely support a person's body during transport from one place to another. The device includes at least one sheet of fabric and connectors secured to the fabric. With the device fastened to an ambulance cot, either directly or via the ambulance cot mattress, a person is positioned on the cot mattress, and then the fabric is wrapped about the person's body, and the connectors are secured about the person's body. Among other things, the device may be used to stabilize the abdominal mass of a bariatric patient, and thereby safely increase the effective “patient capacity” of an otherwise conventional ambulance cot. When not in use, the device is stored in one or more storage cavities defined by the ambulance cot mattress.
ANCHOR FOR USE WITH PATIENT RESTRAINTS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A restraint anchor in accordance with at least one of the present inventions includes an attachment member that is adapted to be secured to a patient restraint and a base member, associated with the attachment member, that is adapted to be secured to a portion of a patient support apparatus.
DEVICE FOR IMMOBILIZATION
In order to create a simple device for immobilizing the human body or parts of the body in a manner that is gentle on the patient, in particular for arranging medical targeting devices, markers or surgical instruments for image-guided, minimally invasive surgery, said device having at least one immobilization element (1) which can be positioned on the surface of the body, the immobilization element (1) is made of a bonded nonwoven fabric (2) which can be fastened by means of a micro hook-and-loop fastener (3).
Patient restraint system and methods for assisting a caregiver with patient restraint
A restraint apparatus operable by a user for restraining a limb of a person to a restraining point including a cuff having a first end and a second end. The cuff is operable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The cuff is secured around the limb of the person in the closed configuration and the first end and the second end are separated from each other in the open configuration. At least one tether is attached to the cuff. The tether includes a coupler to couple the cuff to the restraining point when the cuff is in the closed configuration. The cuff is wearable by a least a portion of a hand of the user in the open configuration.
Device, system and method for immobilization of a human's body part
A system for immobilization of a patient body part for radiotherapy applications includes a device having at least one flanged support member which is mounted to a fixation surface. The device can receive and retain at least two sheets. A first sheet covers the anatomical contours of a first area of a body part. A second sheet covers the anatomical contours of a second area of the body part which is not covered by the first sheet. The system supports the immobilized body part free from the fixation surface by the two sheets and the device.
Radial cardiac catheterization board
Embodiments of the present description provide a medical apparatus for use in supporting a patient lying in a supine position during a radial cardiac catheterization procedure. More particularly, embodiments of the present description provide an arm board a patient's arm during a radial cardiac catheterization procedure. The arm board has a base member having a substantially planar support surface on which the patient's arm can be stabilized during a catheterization procedure and at least one shield member affixed to the base member and extending away from the support surface. Desirably, the base member has both a radiolucent portion and a radiopaque portion and the shield member is a radiopaque material, thereby reducing and/or eliminating a doctor's exposure to radiation during radial cardiac catheterization procedures without impairing the ability to obtain the necessary medical images. Also provided is a medical apparatus and a method for its use.
PROFILE FOR THE ATTACHMENT OF AN IMMOBILISATION MASK
Assembly of a carrier (3) for supporting a patient, an immobilisation mask (2) and connection means (13, 21, 22) for connecting the carrier (3) with the immobilisation mask (2), wherein the connection means (13, 21, 22) contain a profile (1) that is provided on a first side to be connected to the immobilisation mask (2) and on a second side contains first connection means (21) for connecting the immobilisation mask (2) to the carrier (3), the connection means (13, 21, 22) comprising carrier connection means (13) on the carrier (3), the first connection means (21) being provided to engage the corresponding carrier connection means (13), wherein a swivel and a swivel anchor point (36) are provided to cooperate such that when swivelling the swivel arm (34) around the swivel anchor point (36) towards the carrier (3), the first connection means (21) are guided to the connected state.
Human stabilization platforms and related mattresses
Mattresses for human stabilization may include a mass of foam material. A cover including a fabric material may at least partially surrounding the mass of foam material. Head blocks including a foam material may be located proximate to one end of the mattress. The fabric material of the cover may at least partially cover the head blocks, and the head blocks may be foldable relative to the mass of foam material to enable the head blocks to be positioned against lateral sides of a person's head. Human stabilization platforms may include a litter having a surface sized and shaped to support a person thereabove. Straps may be configured to restrain a person's head, the straps having releasable connectors at ends thereof. A track may be located on the surface of the litter, and may be configured to receive the connectors to affix the straps to the litter.
LIMB POSITIONING DISPOSABLES WITH INFLATABLE BLADDERS
An orthopedic limb interface device is disclosed for positioning and retaining a lower portion of the arm of the human body during orthopedic operatory procedures. The device includes a handplate coupled to a sleeve. The sleeve surrounds and grips the arm and is lined with an inflatable bladder. The bladder includes a plurality of inflatable zones, at least one zone having inflation limiting means such that the inflated bladder has a variable inflation profile therealong. The variable inflation profile is configured to increase retention at target areas of the limb, while softly retaining other areas of the limb to avoid limb numbness. Areas of increased retention may engage portions of the arm to improve the grip on the arm for reliable limb distraction.
Head and Neck Stabilizing Apparatus
A physical therapeutic apparatus that has a table-stable base, upon which is mounted a fulcrum pivot point, and an occipital cradle engaged upon the pivot point for selectable and lockable angular motion about the pivot point. The apparatus also has an adjustable chin rest, the chin rest having left and right arms, each arm adjustable for length, each arm adjustably mounted for lateral motion at opposite ends of a pivot point, each arm terminating in releasably connectable ends. An optional dorsal wedge is engaged upon the occipital cradle.
