Base plate for a medical appliance, a monitor device and a system for a medical appliance
A base plate for an ostomy appliance, the base plate (4) comprises a top layer (208) defining a base plate plane; a first adhesive layer (200) adapted to adhere the base plate (4) to peristomal skin of a user; an electrode assembly (204); and a monitor interface (207) configured to electronically connect with the electrode assembly (204), where the monitor interface (207) comprises a coupling part (210) configured to form a releasably mechanically and/or electronically coupling between the base plate (4) and a monitor device (6); the coupling part (210) is configured to engage and/or disengage with the monitor device (6) allowing the monitor device (6) to be coupled to the base plate by a motion in a direction corresponding to an acute angle of 45 degrees or less relative to the base plate plane.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES INCLUDING A BASE SECUREMENT AREA, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Example fluid impermeable barriers of fluid collection devices and methods of forming a fluid impermeable barrier of a fluid collection device. The fluid impermeable barrier includes an inner surface at least partially defining a chamber, a first end region defining an aperture extending therethrough and including a first outer surface portion, and a second end region distal to the first end region and including a second outer surface portion having more adhesive strength than the first outer surface portion. The fluid impermeable barrier also defines an opening extending longitudinally along the fluid impermeable barrier and configured to be positioned adjacent to a female urethra.
A COLLECTING DEVICE
An ostomy pouch or wound bag includes a fluid tight collecting bag for containing bodily fluid or waste matter. The collecting bag includes an opening for receiving bodily fluid or waste matter. A flexible material cover is provided that at least partially covers the collecting bag. The cover comprises a front part arranged on a first side of the collecting bag that in use faces forward away from the wearer. The front part of the cover includes a first panel section having a viewing window through which the opening is visible and a cover panel section that is reconfigurable between a closed configuration in which at least part of the cover panel section covers and obscures the viewing window and the opening is obscured, and an open configuration in which the viewing window is uncovered and the stoma opening is at least partially visible.
Urinary Output Measuring System
Disclosed herein is a urinary output monitoring system. The system can include a urinary output monitoring device having a device body with a front panel and a back panel, and a fluid collection bag attachment configured to be detachably coupled to the front panel and to secure a fluid collection bag. The system can further include a load cell configured to determine a load placed upon the fluid collection bag attachment. The load cell can be in communication with a console. An attachment system can be configured to couple the urinary output monitoring system to a securing surface, for example to the back panel, and can have two or more contact points coupled to one or more rails defining a longitudinal axis, the contact points defining a lateral axis and configured to longitudinally move along the rails.
Dual-purpose urinary catheter drain line and collection bag
A sterile dual-purpose closed intermittent urinary catheter system that may be used as either a drain line or a collection bag. A catheter resides within an inner cavity of an extensible sheath and may be extracted from a forward end through an outlet hub for insertion into the urethra. A valve at a rearward end of the sheath may be opened to permit the sheath to function as a drain line, or closed to permit the sheath to function as a collection bag. The sheath has an extended length substantially longer than the catheter length, and may be compressed in an accordion fashion or folded to a compact packaged shape. The urine may be collected in the sheath with the valve closed, or drained straight into a toilet with the valve open. The system may have a source of lubrication to wet the catheter.
MENSTRUAL DISC AND METHODS OF USE
Provided herein are systems, methods and apparatuses for a Menstrual disc.
URINE COLLECTION APPARATUS
A urine collection apparatus for human females may comprise an interface body including a cup portion and an elongate portion, the cup portion and the elongate portion defining an interface surface engaging the user's body, wherein the cup portion is forward of the elongate portion and sized to be disposed in surrounding relation to the urethral opening of the user while the user is in a seated position, and wherein the elongate portion is configured to be disposed under the user while the user is in a seated position.
EXPANDABLE AND RETRACTABLE MENSTRUAL CUP
A menstrual cup is provided whose body can expand to reveal an interior cavity in an open position configured to receive menstrual fluids and that can retract to a closed position such that the interior cavity of the menstrual cup is contained by the sides and body of the menstrual cup and any contained fluids are prevented from leaking out. A hook is coupled to a bottom surface of the body of the menstrual cup and can be pulled upon to close the menstrual cup and pushed upwards to open the menstrual cup. The retractability of the menstrual cup facilitates insertion into the vaginal cavity and removal without spillage of menstrual fluids. The menstrual cup includes a body with retractable sides that can close inwardly. A user can grasp the hook to manipulate the body of the menstrual cup from either a closed position or an open position.
FLUID COLLECTION WITH MULTIPORT VALVE ASSEMBLY
Embodiments of the invention relate to devices, systems, and methods for collecting fluid from a wearer. The fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier defining an interior chamber therein, a permeable body in the interior region, a conduit disposed within the interior chamber, and a multiport valve assembly. The multiport valve assembly allows a user to select a port at a longitudinal point in the interior chamber through which the collected valve can be removed.
FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING AN EXTENSION
An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable layer. The fluid impermeable layer includes a proximal end region and a distal end region. The fluid impermeable layer also defines at least a chamber, at least one opening that may be between the proximal and distal end regions, and a fluid outlet that may be at the proximal end region. The fluid collection assembly may also include at least one porous material disposed in the chamber. The fluid collection assembly further includes an extension that is at least one of attachable or extends from the distal end region of the fluid impermeable layer. The extension is configured to be disposed within the gluteal cleft (e.g., between the buttocks) to help secure the fluid collection assembly to an individual using the fluid collection assembly.
