FLUID REMOVAL DEVICE

The invention comprises a urine removal devices that enable urine discharged from a male patient's penis to be contained within a flexible pouch and drawn out of the pouch and away from the genital region of the patient through a drain tube. The pouch comprises a first fluid compartment, a second fluid compartment and a fluid transmission passageway connecting the first fluid compartment and the second fluid compartment—wherein the fluid transmission passageway comprises a thin-film unidirectional fluid flow valve configured to enable for fluid flow from the first fluid compartment to the second fluid compartment, and to prevent fluid flow from the second fluid compartment to the first fluid compartment. The pouch may have an aperture sized to permit a male patient's penis to enter the pouch within the first fluid compartment.

FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES INCLUDING A DRY ADHESIVE REGION, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Example fluid collection devices, and related systems and methods of use are described. The fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier having a rear region and a front region at least partially defining an opening and positioned on the fluid impermeable barrier to be at least proximate to a urethra of a user. The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber and an aperture sized and dimensioned to receive a conduit therethrough. The fluid collection device includes a fluid permeable body positioned at least partially within the chamber to extend across at least a portion of the opening and configured to wick fluid away from the opening. The fluid collection device includes a dry adhesive region positioned on the rear region of the fluid impermeable barrier at least partially distal to the opening to interface a garment worn by the user.

FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS SECURING A PROTRUDING PORTION IN POSITION FOR USE

Examples relate to systems, devices, and methods utilizing means for securing a protruding portion of a fluid permeable body disposed between a wearer's labia in position during use. The protruding portion is formed from fluid permeable material that allows urine or other fluids to pass therethrough. The fluid permeable body is disposed at least partially within a fluid impermeable barrier to prevent leakage of the fluid. The fluid is removed through a conduit disposed in a chamber within the fluid impermeable barrier.

Body side member of an ostomy appliance

A body side member of an ostomy appliance comprising a nonwoven element comprising a releasable material. Contact of the nonwoven element with liquid allow release of the releasable material from the nonwoven element. The releasable material may act to neutralise enzyme activity or pH of stomal exudate.

An adhesive ostomy element comprising a backing layer (3) and having at least a first section (1) and at least a first adhesive (4) on a surface of said backing layer. In the centre is provided a stoma-receiving through-going hole (2) defining an inner boundary in said first section and said first section being adjacent to and extending radially from said through-going hole. At least a part of the portion of the first section is provided with a layer of absorbent foam (7) adjacent the hole. The foam expands towards the stoma when wetted and provides a seal against the stoma.
