Compressible non-reticulated polyurea polishing pad

The invention provides a polishing pad suitable for polishing at least one of semiconductor, optical, magnetic or electromechanical substrates. It includes a polyurea polishing layer and a polyurea matrix. The polyurea has a soft segment being a copolymer of aliphatic fluorine-free polymer groups and a fluorocarbon having a length of a least six carbons. The polyurea matrix being cured with a curative agent and including gas or liquid-filled polymeric microelements. The polyurea matrix has a bulk region and a transition region adjacent the bulk region that extends to the polishing layer. The polymeric microelements in the transition region decrease in thickness as they approach the polishing layer with thickness of the compressed microelements adjacent the polishing layer being less than fifty percent of a diameter of the polymeric microelements in the bulk region. The polishing layer remains hydrophilic during polishing in shear conditions.

The invention relates to a method for producing a cured composition which has at least one oxazolidinone ring and at least one isocyanurate ring and is cross-linked by the same, starting from a liquid reactive mixture which, based on the total weight thereof, contains at least one epoxy resin, at least one polyisocyanate, at least one polyol, and at least one catalyst composition. The invention further relates to the cured composition obtainable thereby.

A polyisocyanurate and/or polyurethane (PIR/PUR) comprising material having improved Flame, Smoke and/or Toxicity (FST) retardancy is disclosed and a method for forming said PIR/PUR comprising material. The PIR/PUR material is comprising at least 0.2 wt % of compounds having a number average equivalent weight <160 g/mol and at least one non-polymerized ethylenically unsaturated moiety based on the total weight of the PIR/PUR comprising material, and optionally 0.01 wt % up to 1 wt % of one or more radical initiator compounds based on the total weight of the PIR/PUR comprising material.

Provided are a thermoplastic polyurethane foam and an impact resistant composite laminate. The thermoplastic polyurethane comprises a structural unit represented by Formula (I):

The impact resistant composite laminate comprises a base layer and a first impact resistant layer formed by the thermoplastic polyurethane foam, and the first impact resistant layer overlaps the base layer.

The subject application relates to polyurethane foam and methods of forming the same. A polyurethane foam may include a polyurethane foam may include a first polyol component, a second polyol component, and a third polyol component. The first polyol component may include at least one component selected from the group of a polyether polyol and a polyester polyol. The second polyol component may include a polyether polyol. The third polyol component may include a grafted polyether polyol. The polyurethane foam may have a density of at least about 100 kg/m.sup.3 and not greater than about 800 kg/m.sup.3. The polyurethane foam may have an adjusted compression force deflection to density ratio of at least about 0.3.

Two-Part Compositions Including a Uretdione-Containing Material and Inorganic Filler, Products, and Methods

The present disclosure provides a two-part composition polymeric material including a first part and a second part. The first part includes an inorganic filler and a polymeric material including a polymerized reaction product of a polymerizable composition including components. The components include a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself; a first hydroxyl-containing compound; and an optional second hydroxyl-containing compound having a single OH group. The second part includes a polythiol having an average sulfhydryl group functionality of 2 or greater. Further, a method of adhering two substrates is provided, including obtaining a two-part composition; combining at least a portion of the first part with at least a portion of the second part to form a mixture; disposing at least a portion of the mixture on a first substrate; and contacting a second substrate with the mixture disposed on the first substrate. The disclosure also provides a polymerized product of the two-part composition and a battery module. Advantageously, two-part compositions can be used as coatings and adhesive systems including high loadings of inorganic filler, such as thermally conductive filler, with handling and performance similar to existing two-part urethane systems, but with less sensitivity to water.

Polymeric Material Including a Uretdione-Containing Material and Inorganic Filler, Two-Part Compositions, Products, and Methods

The present disclosure provides a polymeric material including a polymerized reaction product of a polymerizable composition including components and an inorganic filler. The components include a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself; a first hydroxyl-containing compound; and an optional second hydroxyl-containing compound having a single OH group. The present disclosure also provides a two-part composition, in which the polymeric material is included in the first part and the second part includes at least one amine. Further, a method of adhering two substrates is provided, including obtaining a two-part composition; combining at least a portion of the first part with at least a portion of the second part to form a mixture; disposing at least a portion of the mixture on a first substrate; and contacting a second substrate with the mixture disposed on the first substrate. The disclosure also provides a polymerized product of the two-part composition and a battery module. Advantageously, two-part compositions can be used as coatings and adhesive systems including high loadings of inorganic filler, such as thermally conductive filler, with handling and performance similar to existing two-part urethane systems, but with less sensitivity to water.

A polyether polyol having a polyoxyalkylene chain consisting of oxyalkylene units, and having a degree of unsaturation of at most 0.020 meq/g, a hydroxy value of from 1 to 80 mgKOH/g, a content of oxyethylene units of from 0 to 50 mass %, and a content of ultra-high molecular weight components which have molecular weights of from 12 to 46 times the number average molecular weight of at most 1,000 mass ppm. The number average molecular weight is a molecular weight as calculated as polystyrene measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) method, and the content of ultra-high molecular weight components is a value measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method using a charged aerosol detector (CAD).

This invention relates to an in-situ formed polyol blend having an overall functionality of 2 to 3 and an overall hydroxyl number of 50 to 150. A process for preparing these polyol blends is also disclosed. These in-situ formed polyol blends are suitable for preparing viscoelastic flexible polyurethane foams. A process for preparing these foams is also disclosed.
