Dental appliance using airway dialation for treating COVID related breathing disorders
A molded breathing appliance for supporting a nasal oxygen tube having an upper bite rim, a lower bite rim, a moldable material disposed within the upper bite rim and lower bite rim for conforming to a patient's maxillary bite impression and mandibular bite impression, respectively, an L-shaped member extending outwardly perpendicular to the upper bite rim, and a transverse support disposed on the L-shaped member and configured with a plurality of sets of oxygen tube finger clamps to retain a nasal oxygen tube in proximity with a patient's nostrils.
Automated method of manufacturing oral appliances
Disclosed herein are methods of manufacturing an oral appliance, the method comprising the steps of: a) importing into a computer aided design (CAD) computer program a digitized data set obtained from a three-dimensional scan of a patient's dentition; b) preparing a three-dimensional electronic model of the patient's dentition; c) subtracting the three-dimensional electronic model of the patient's dentition from an image of a solid block to obtain an appliance data set; and d) manufacturing a dental appliance in accordance with the appliance data set. Also disclosed are devices made by the above method, and methods of treating a condition, for example a sleep breathing disorder, by using a device made by the above method.
DENTAL APPLIANCE
A mouth guard includes a tray configured to encompass at least anterior teeth of a dental arch. The tray includes a pair of protrusions extending away from the tray, each protrusion configured to generally overlie a canine of the dental arch. The protrusions are configured to engage one or more anterior teeth of a dental arch, whereby damage to the at least anterior teeth of the dental arch is reduced or prevented.
ORAL AND NASAL DEVICES FOR THE TREATMENT OF SLEEP APNEA AND/OR SNORING WITH FILTER AND SENSORS TO PROVIDE REMOTE DIGITAL MONITORING AND REMOTE DATA ANALYSIS
The invention relates to devices and methods for monitoring, diagnosing and/or treating sleep apnea. Devices of the invention comprise a mouthpiece having a filter assembly and a microchip. Devices of the invention may also comprise a nasal splint having a filter assembly and a microchip. The invention also relates to a system comprising devices of the invention.
SLEEP APNEA AND ANTI-SNORING SYSTEM
A sleep apnea treatment/anti-snoring device optionally having controlled positive air-flow using a micro-blower to maintain an individual's upper airway unobstructed (pharynx area). Optionally the device includes a lower jaw mandibular advancement component. The device has built-in sensors, microprocessor and other items required for data acquisition and transfer.
Query plans for analytic SQL constructs
A system and method for managing data storage and data access with querying data in a distributed system without buffering the results on intermediate operations in disk storage.
Tongue retainer
A tongue grasping and restraining device holds the tongue securely during sleep in order to minimize the risk of the tongue slipping back and blocking the throat. Plural tongue gripping projections are coupled to upper and lower supports. One or more of the upper and lower supports are biased together into a tongue engaging position. A tongue depressor can extend rearwardly and downwardly from the upper support to depress the user's tongue to further open the user's airway. The position of the tongue depressor can be adjustable. The upper support is coupled to the user's upper jaw, for example, to a denture, dental appliance or other form of an upper jaw coupler and can be pivoted thereto. The lower support can be hinged to, fixed to, or otherwise joined to a lower jaw coupler. A tube and rod mechanism can couple the jaw couplers together.
MANDIBULAR ADVANCEMENT DEVICE
A customizable mandibular advancement device for use in treating snoring and obstructive sleep apnea is provided. The device comprises upper and lower trays adapted to be fitted to a person's maxillary and mandibular arches. The upper tray comprises a stop member, which when engaged with a fin located on the lower tray, inhibits the posterior movement of the user's mandible thereby maintaining the mandible in an advanced position. Both the upper and lower trays comprise a core that is overmolded by a thermoplastic material that has a much lower softening temperature than the core.
ORAL APPLIANCE FIXED TO LOWER TEETH
An oral appliance fixed to lower jaw teeth comprises a body having a shape corresponding to a teeth arrangement, a lower teeth recess formed in a lower portion of the body to allow lower jaw teeth to be inserted therein, an upper teeth recess formed in an upper portion of the body to allow upper jaw teeth to be inserted therein and allowing the lower jaw to move backward by a predetermined distance, and an upper teeth guide part formed to extend from the body to face a side of the upper jaw teeth. The lower teeth recess further comprises a lower molar fixing recess formed to strongly engage with at least a portion of left and right molars of the lower jaw teeth by frictional force, and a lower incisor recess formed to allow other lower jaw teeth except the left and right molars to position therein.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REDUCING BRUXISM AND OCCLUSAL FORCES
An orthotic device for redefining an occlusal plane includes a left portion, a right portion including an upper surface, a bite block coupled to either the left portion or the right portion, and a lingual portion coupled to the left portion and the right portion. The orthotic device is configured to engage teeth located along a left portion and a right portion of a mandible. The bite block is disposed along the upper surface of either the left portion or the right portion and extends upward relative to an upper surface of the left or right portion.
