Methods and systems for vaginal therapeutic device fitting
11826162 · 2023-11-28 · ·

A variety of medical and non-medical devices are exploited by users to address a wide range of conditions. However, in the vast majority of instances, the device has a limited number of options with respect to its fit for the user and its performance. Further, the determination of target performance and fit are established on a qualitative basis rather than a quantitative basis. In many instances, these combinations lead to low user acceptance of the device due to the resulting performance and fit issues. Accordingly, it would enhance performance and user acceptance if a quantitative determination provided a recommended type where options exist, and this determination provided the basis of a custom designed device to the user's specific anatomical and/or performance requirements.

STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE (SUI) DEVICE
20220313414 · 2022-10-06 ·

Urinary incontinence devices generally include a body configured to be inserted into a vagina. The body may have a proximal insertion portion, a plurality of legs coupled to and extending distally from the insertion portion, and a distal retrieval portion. The plurality of legs may each have a length, a width, and a distal end, and the distal ends of the plurality of legs may be coupled together. The body may have a compressed configuration, an expanded configuration, and a lateral cross-sectional diameter, and the lateral cross-sectional diameter of the body may be largest at the widest point of each of the plurality of legs. Methods of treating urinary incontinence may include loading a urinary incontinence device into an applicator, inserting the applicator into the vagina, advancing the incontinence device out of the applicator to position a distal end of the device past the pelvic floor, and removing the incontinence device from the vagina using the distal retrieval portion.

BIOERODIBLE IMPLANT FOR LONG-TERM DRUG DELIVERY AND ASSOCIATED METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE

A drug delivery system is provided in the form of a controlled release, bioerodible pellet for subdermal implantation. The pellet is bioerodible, and provides for the sustained release of a pharmacologically active agent over an extended time period. As such, the drug delivery system finds significant utility in chronic drug administration. Bioerosion products are water soluble, bioresorbed, or both, obviating the need for surgical removal of the implant. Methods for manufacturing and using the drug delivery system are also provided.

A pelvic prolapse treatment belt includes a main structural member having an inner and outer side for wrapping around a wearer including up to their hips. The main structural member includes a plurality of through-hole regions positioned to be located on respective sides of a wearer's spine. A compression pad is attached to the main structural member that has a wider top and a narrower bottom. The compression pad is configured for placing over a pelvic cavity of the wearer to provide support. A first and a second strap are attached to the narrower bottom and have a length sufficient for extending over the wearer's buttocks. The straps are sized for being pulled through the through-hole and have a distal end with an attachment feature for attaching to the outer side of the main structural member.

PESSARY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PELVIC FLOOR LIGAMENT SUPPORT
20220313947 · 2022-10-06 ·

A pessary system for providing pelvic floor support for USL and other ligaments. The pessary has an elongated probe with independently inflatable balloons each located substantially the same distance from the insertion end of the probe and which inflate into separate radial sectors. The probe can be inserted into a vaginal cavity and the balloons inflated provide mechanical support to the USLs. Independent inflation of each balloon allows the mechanical USL support provided to be varied on left and right sides to compensate for differences in the degree of degradation and positioning of the USL ligaments on either side.
