METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF BITUMEN AND INTERMEDIARY COMPOSITIONS

The invention concerns a method for the preparation of a bituminous composition BC comprising the following steps: a) having an intermediary hydrocarbonated composition IC comprising: a hydrocarbonated component selected among bitumen and oils, and a hydroxide XOH with X=Na or K, which represents from 15 to 50% by weight of the total weight of the intermediary hydrocarbonated composition IC, b) introducing the intermediary hydrocarbonated composition IC, into a composition HC of a bitumen, in particular chosen among paving grade bitumen as defined by EN 12591 and polymer modified bitumen as defined by EN 14023.

The intermediary hydrocarbonated composition IC as defined in the invention and its uses are other aspects of the invention.

Flame Retardant Polymer Composition

The present invention relates to a flame retardant polymer composition comprising at least the following components A) 2.0 to 49.8 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a copolymer comprising ethylene units and units selected from the group consisting of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and mixtures thereof; B) 0.1 to 6.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a polyethylene and/or polypropylene containing units originating from maleic acid anhydride; C) 0.1 to 5.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a silicone fluid and/or a silicon gum; D) 50.0 to 70.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a magnesium hydroxide; and E) 0 to 17.0 wt.-% based on the overall weight of the polymer composition of a copolymer of ethylene and a C4 to C10 alpha olefin comonomer having a density in the range of 860 kg/m3 to 950 kg/m.sup.3 determined according to ISO 1183; wherein the weight proportions of components A) to E) add up to 100 wt.-%. In addition, the present invention refers to a wire or cable comprising at least one layer comprising the polymer composition according to the present invention and to the use of the polyolefin composition according to the present invention as a flame retardant layer of a wire or cable.

Disclosed are an adhesive film, an anti-PID encapsulation adhesive film, a composition forming the adhesive film, and a photovoltaic module and laminated glass. The composition includes: an ethylene copolymer matrix resin, an amide organic compound, a metal oxide and/or metal hydroxide, the metal oxide is selected from one or more of the components aluminum oxide, calcium oxide, zinc oxide, banum oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, vanadium oxide, antimony oxide, tantalum oxide, niobium oxide, layered transition metal oxide, or ZnO-doped Al.sub.2O.sub.3, CaO/SiO.sub.2-doped Al.sub.2O.sub.3, MgO-doped Al.sub.2O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2-doped ZrO.sub.2, and TiO.sub.2-doped ZrO.sub.2, and the metal hydroxide is selected from one or more of the components calcium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, zinc hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, iron hydroxide and barium hydroxide. Alternatively, the composition includes: a matrix resin, a metal ion trapping agent and an organic co-crosslinker. The adhesive film has a better anti-PID effect, photoelectric conversion efficiency and encapsulation performance.

The isocyanate terminated prepolymer can be an isocyanate terminated polyester, polycarbonate or polyether prepolymer. The isocyanate terminated prepolymer has a structural formula as follows:

wherein R, R′ and R″ are an aryl group or alkyl group and wherein n is a number of prepolymer units corresponding to length of the main chain. The composition degrades at a rate and at a delay for failure between 8-72 hours. The composition is a dissolvable rubber material with a modulus and elongation suitable for a component of a downhole tool.
