POLYVINYL ACETAL AND CELLULOSE ESTER MULTILAYER INTERLAYERS
A multilayer interlayer structure having a first and second polyvinyl acetal (poly(vinyl acetal)) layer and a cellulose ester layer having a thickness of at least 10 mils disposed between the first and second poly(vinyl acetal) layers. The cellulose ester layer can have a higher storage modulus and/or higher Tg than at least one of the poly(vinyl acetal) layers. The interlayer structure is useful to make glass panels having high stiffness and which possess good optical clarity for a variety of applications, including outdoor structural applications.
USE OF MONO-SUBSTITUTED SUCCINIC ANHYDRIDE
The use of at least one mono-substituted succinic anhydride is described before or during compounding of a polymer composition including at least one polymer as polymer component and at least one calcium carbonate-based material as filler. The use of the at least one mono-substituted succinic anhyride can reduce the polymer decomposition during processing and/or can decrease the melt flow rate of such a compounded polymer composition by at least 10%. The use can also increase the viscosity of such a compounded polymer composition by at least 10%, in comparison to the same polymer composition that has been treated the same way in the absence of any mono-substituted succinic anhydride, wherein the polymer composition does not include polylactic acid.

The glycolic acid copolymer composition according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a glycolic acid copolymer and a carboxylic anhydride, the glycolic acid copolymer including two or more straight macromolecular chains A, each containing a repeating unit derived from glycolic acid and being chemically bonded to a particular macromolecular chain B that is different from the macromolecular chain A, and a weight average molecular weight of the composition is 150000 or greater.

The molded body according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a composition containing a glycolic acid polymer, a plasticizer, and a degradation accelerator. An absolute value of a difference between a Fedors solubility parameter of the plasticizer and a Fedors solubility parameter of the glycolic acid polymer is 6 (J/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 or less. A content of the plasticizer in the composition is 10 mass % or greater and 50 mass % or less.
MOLDED BODY, DOWNHOLE TOOL MEMBER, AND DOWNHOLE TOOL
The molded body according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a composition containing a glycolic acid polymer, a plasticizer, and a degradation accelerator. An absolute value of a difference between a Fedors solubility parameter of the plasticizer and a Fedors solubility parameter of the glycolic acid polymer is 6 (J/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2 or less. A content of the plasticizer in the composition is 10 mass % or greater and 50 mass % or less.
Thermoplastic resin compositions, adhesive coating materials, and laminates using the same
Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition or an adhesive coating material capable of adhering a cyclic polyolefin-based polymer with a metal or metal compound such as aluminum foil or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with sufficient strength. The thermoplastic resin composition contains (A) 100 parts by mass of thermoplastic resin; (B) 0.05 to 5 parts by mass of one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and an unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative; and (C) 0.01 to 3 parts by mass of organic peroxide; which component (A) contains (a1) 10 to 90% by mass cyclic polyolefin-based polymer; and (a2) 90 to 10% by mass a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer comprising a polymer block composed mainly of an aromatic vinyl compound and a random copolymer block of a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound (with the proviso that the total of the component (a1) and the component (a2) is 100% by mass).
Thermoplastic resin compositions, adhesive coating materials, and laminates using the same
Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition or an adhesive coating material capable of adhering a cyclic polyolefin-based polymer with a metal or metal compound such as aluminum foil or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with sufficient strength. The thermoplastic resin composition contains (A) 100 parts by mass of thermoplastic resin; (B) 0.05 to 5 parts by mass of one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and an unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative; and (C) 0.01 to 3 parts by mass of organic peroxide; which component (A) contains (a1) 10 to 90% by mass cyclic polyolefin-based polymer; and (a2) 90 to 10% by mass a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer comprising a polymer block composed mainly of an aromatic vinyl compound and a random copolymer block of a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound (with the proviso that the total of the component (a1) and the component (a2) is 100% by mass).
