HUMAN THERMOREGULATION SIMULATOR
20190066540 · 2019-02-28 ·

Various implementations include a Human Thermoregulation Simulator (HTRS) that simulates the natural and primary thermoregulatory functions of a patient that are relevant during therapeutic hypothermia procedures. For example, in various implementations, a HTRS includes a core container configured to be at least partially filled with water, and the core container includes a heat generator configured to heat the water inside the core container. A middle container is disposed concentrically around the core container, and the middle container includes a foam layer configured to be saturated by water. An outer container is disposed concentrically around the middle container, and the outer container includes a network of tubing disposed on at least a portion of an inner surface of the outer container. The HTRS also includes a pump configured to circulate water from the core container through the network of tubing.

MEDICAL ICE SLURRY PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS

The present disclosure provides systems and method for medical ice slurry production. In particular, systems and methods are provided for medical ice slurry production that enable an end user to produce and deliver a sterile medical ice slurry at the point of care.

Personal Cooling Misting System
20190001354 · 2019-01-03 ·

The personal cooling misting system disclosed provides for a wearable fluid reservoir to contain a volume of misting fluid, and an electrically operated pump proximate to the reservoir to pump the misting fluid from the reservoir to a misting head. The misting head facilitates atomizing the misting fluid. The system further provides for feed tubing to direct the misting fluid from the reservoir to the pump, and distributive tubing to direct the misting fluid from the pump to the misting head. The system also includes a pump control to control at least one of a pressure and a flow rate of the misting fluid through at least one of the feed tubing and distributive tubing, and the system includes a programmable circuit board to facilitate system control via the pump control, as well as directing to the pump control a misting distribution pattern for at least one of a consistent or intermittent misting pattern.

COOLING APPARATUS AND COOLING METHOD
20240261135 · 2024-08-08 ·

A cooling apparatus and a cooling method are proposed. The cooling device may spray a coolant received from a coolant reservoir toward a target region to cool the target region. The cooling device may include a spraying unit from which the coolant is sprayed, a valve configured to regulate a flow of the coolant, and a control unit configured to control opening and closing of the valve. When cooling starts. the control unit may control a first cooling mode in which a temperature of the target region is decreased and a second cooling mode in which the temperature of the target region is maintained in a predetermined temperature range to be sequentially performed.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING FLUIDS AND/OR GASES TO THE LUNGS

An apparatus and method for providing heat exchange in the lungs of the mammal during partial liquid ventilation are provided. The apparatus and method can control delivery and removal of partial liquid ventilation to the lungs of a mammal by responding to pressure change in the lungs to minimize danger of causing barotrauma to the patient.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERITONEAL OXYGENATION

A head cap for securing a cooling pad for conducting medical cooling of the head and neck of a patient is provided.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SAFE ACCESS AND AUTOMATED THERAPY
20180289536 · 2018-10-11 ·

An automated therapy system having an infusion catheter; a sensor adapted to sense a patient parameter; and a controller communicating with the sensor and programmed to control flow output from the infusion catheter into a patient based on the patient parameter without removing fluid from the patient. The invention also includes a method of controlling infusion of a fluid to a patient. The method includes the following steps: monitoring a patient parameter with a sensor to generate a sensor signal; providing the sensor signal to a controller; and adjusting fluid flow to the patient based on the sensor signal without removing fluid from the patient.

COLD SLURRY CONTAINMENT
20180289538 · 2018-10-11 ·

The present invention provides methods and devices for controlling a cold slurry that is delivered to a target tissue and for limiting heat transferring from surrounding tissue to the target tissue. In particular, a balloon structure is deployed at or near a point of delivery to act as a physical and/or thermal barrier. In some instances, the balloon structure can act as a pressure device obstructing the flow of warm blood into a treatment area, which can melt the cold slurry.
