Use of sterile sleeve in production of surgical slush
Production of sterile therapeutic medium such as sterile surgical slush for use in surgery. A sterile slush container with a sterile sleeve assembly so that the outside of the sterile slush container remains sterile after placement in a non-sterile slush making machine so that the sterile slush container may be returned to the sterile field after removal of the sterile slush container from the sleeve assembly.
AORTIC CATHETER
The invention relates to an aortic catheter (1) for insertion into the aorta (A), having a flexible tube (2), two occlusion balloons (3, 4), which are spaced part from one another and each of which is connected to a supply line (5, 6) for supplying a pumping medium (7) for inflating the occlusion balloons (3, 4), having at least one opening (8) arranged between the occlusion balloons (3, 4) in the tube (2) for supplying a cooling medium (9), which at least one opening (8) is connected to a first cooling medium supply line (10) running in the tube (2), and also relates to a resuscitation set (22) with such an aortic catheter (1), and a distal port (13) for supplying a cooling medium (9) in the direction of cerebral vessels is disposed in the tube (2), which distal port (13) is connected to a second cooling medium supply line (14) running in the tube (2).
AUTOMATED THERAPY SYSTEM AND METHOD
An automated therapy system having an infusion catheter; a sensor adapted to sense a patient parameter; and a controller communicating with the sensor and programmed to control flow output from the infusion catheter into a patient based on the patient parameter without removing fluid from the patient. The invention also includes a method of controlling infusion of a fluid to a patient. The method includes the following steps: monitoring a patient parameter with a sensor to generate a sensor signal; providing the sensor signal to a controller; and adjusting fluid flow to the patient based on the sensor signal without removing fluid from the patient.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING A COLD SOLUTION
Methods and systems for generating sterile cold solution are provided. The cold solution may be injected into subcutaneous fat of a subject to facilitate weight reduction or improve cosmetic appearances. The systems include a repository for receiving a solution, a generator for generating the cold solution from the solution, and a port for transferring the cold solution from the system. The generator includes a cooling device, a heat exchanger, and a recirculating fluid path configured to circulate a fluid which may include air. The methods include receiving a solution in the system, generating the cold solution from the solution, and transferring the cold solution from the system, wherein generating the cold solution includes circulating a fluid which may include air.
Method and apparatus for dermatological hypopigmentation
Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure provide method and apparatus for effecting (e.g., lightening) an appearance of skin by cooling or freezing small separated surface regions of the skin to produce regions of local hypopigmentation. The width of the regions can be, for example, smaller than about 1 mm or 0.5 mm, and a distance between these frozen regions can be greater than about 3 times the width of the regions. An exemplary apparatus can be provided that includes a plurality of spatially-separated thermally conductive arrangements that can be affixed or otherwise coupled to a base. For example, the conductive arrangements can be regions of conductive material provided in or proximal to a thermal insulator, or thermally conductive protrusions affixed to the base. The conductive arrangements can be cooled and then contacted with the skin surface to produce the small regions of hypopigmentation.
SKIN FREEZING SYSTEMS FOR TREATING ACNE AND SKIN CONDITIONS
A method and system in accordance with a particular embodiments of the technology includes applying a substance onto skin of a human subject. An applicator is then applied to the subject to cool a region of the subject. After cooling the tissue, a nucleation initiator is used to initiate a freeze event in the tissue. The nucleation initiator can be an ice crystal that inoculates the skin upon contact to create a predictable freeze event therein. The time of contact between the ice crystal and the skin can be controlled to achieve desired effects.
Devices configured to monitor biological parameters, and to provide treatment, at an Abreu brain thermal tunnel
Devices for therapeutic interaction with an Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) terminus. Such devices provide heat to or remove heat from the ABTT terminus, and may also provide heat to or remove heat from veins connected to the ABTT. Therapeutic devices for engaging with the ABTT terminus benefit from diagnostics obtained at the ABTT terminus, or from other locations on the body.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BIOLOGICAL EVALUATION
A method for determining an aberrancy in at least one of a body and a brain. The method includes positioning a sensor on a brain thermal tunnel of a human and measuring a thermal output of the brain thermal tunnel. The sensor sends a signal representing the thermal output to a controller which performs a frequency analysis on the thermal signal to identify power peaks in the frequency range. A slope of a line drawn through at least two of the power peaks is determined, and exceeding a predetermined non-zero slope indicates a medical condition of the human.
INCLINED APPLICATOR TIPS FOR COOLING DEVICES
Proposed is an inclined applicator tip adapted to be operably coupled to a handheld cooling device. The inclined applicator tip may include an opened portion, at least a portion of an edge of the opened portion comprising a c-shape opening. The inclined applicator tip may also include an elongated body portion coupled to the opened portion, the longest dimension of the elongated body portion forming an angle of inclination angle of inclination () with respect to the plane which is parallel to the c-shape opening, the elongated body portion being substantially parallel to the cooling axis of the handheld cooling device when operably coupled. The inclined applicator tip may further include a mounting portion adapted to be operably coupled to the cooling device, the mounting portion and the opened portion being coupled to the elongated body portion at opposite ends of the longest dimension of the elongated body portion.
Device for removing heat, energy, and/or fluid from a living mammal
The present invention provides improved devices for removing energy and fluid from body fluid containing spaces and surfaces of a mammal, the devices including isolated air and water delivery systems configured to simultaneously deliver streams of dry air and liquid water to the nostrils of a patient, without allowing the streams to come into contact with one-another until it enters the patient's nostrils.
