HOT MELT ADHESIVE
20230312997 · 2023-10-05 ·

Disclosed is a hot melt adhesive comprising: (A) a copolymer of ethylene with an olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms; (B) an ethylene-carboxylic acid ester copolymer; and (C) a tackifying resin, wherein the (B) ethylene-carboxylic acid ester copolymer comprises (B1) an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid ester copolymer containing a structural unit derived from the (meth)acrylic acid ester in an amount of 2 to 24% by mass.

Bi-oriented, linear, low-density polyethylene film with improved sealing properties

Disclosed are compositions, methods, and uses for multi-layered films which are intended to provide high quality sealants having sufficient sealing strength for use in packaging and other applications while being more cost-effective and higher-yield than traditional combinations of unoriented polyolefin films and web materials. The film comprises a multilayer structure of LLDPE having a core layer, a surface skin layer, and a sealant skin layer. The core layer further comprises a slip agent, while the skin layers further comprise antiblock agents. Optional embodiments may include tie layers between the core layer and the skin layers, or may include pigments in one or more of the core layer or tie layers. The surface skin layer may be subjected to a surface treatment (e.g., corona treatment) to improve suitability for coating or metallization.

A composition in the form of a solution or dispersion, comprising an anhydride-modified polyolefin, an anhydride-modified styrenic block copolymer, and an isocyanate-containing crosslinker, wherein the anhydride-modified polyolefin and anhydride-modified styrenic block copolymer are present in a total amount in the range of 7% to 18% by weight in total, based on the composition, and in a weight ratio of anhydride-modified polyolefin to anhydride-modified styrenic block copolymer which is in the range of 2:1 to 6:1; the weight ratio of isocyanate-containing crosslinker to the sum of anhydride-modified polyolefin plus anhydride-modified styrenic block copolymer is in the range of 0.2:1 to 0.5:1; and the solvent comprises a ketone as first solvent and an alkylbenzene or an alkane solvent. The compositions are useful for adhering TPO to TPU, polyester or PU. The composition can be used in a process of bonding a first part or coating of a TPO to a second part or coating of TPU, polyester or PU, using heat and optionally pressure, wherein the adhesion has improved peel strength.

Ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer and method for preparing the same

The present invention provides an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer having narrow molecular weight distribution together with a low density and an ultra low molecular weight, minimized number of unsaturated functional groups, and particularly a small amount of vinylidene among the unsaturated functional groups to show excellent physical properties, and a method for preparing the same.

MULTILAYER FILMS FOR AIRBAG APPLICATIONS

A multilayer film is provided that includes a barrier layer, and an adhesive layer, which includes a maleic anhydride (MAH)-grafted polyolefin. The barrier layer has a melting point higher than the adhesive layer, and the melting point of the barrier layer is higher than 165° C. The multilayer film enables production of gas-tight multilayer laminates which exhibit a high peel resistance combined with a low weight and/or thickness. Further, a multilayer laminate and an inflatable airbag that include a fabric layer adhered to the multilayer film, as well as a method of its manufacturing are described.
