Fungal Infection Treatment
A fungal infection treatment includes a container comprised of a thermally conductive material. In this way the container can be heated by the boiled water when the boiled water is poured from the cup into the container. A cover is positionable on the container to close the container to inhibit the boiled water from being spilled from the container. A drape is provided that has an opening extending therethrough. In this way the drape can be positioned on a respective one of the user's appendages having the opening exposing a nail on the respective appendage. The container is positionable in the opening when the drape is positioned on the appendage. In this way the container can transfer heat from the boiled water to the nail on the respective appendage for treating a fungal infection of the nail bed.
THERAPY BOOT WITH POCKETS FOR ICE PACK AND COMPRESSION BLADDER
The present invention comprises a therapy boot for treatment of the ankle or lower leg. The therapy boot comprises a hard outer shell having an open anterior portion, a base portion, a posterior portion, two oppositely disposed side portions, and a pocket with an opening provided in each of the side portions. The therapy boot also comprises an air bladder comprising two inflatable chambers, a corresponding one of the two inflatable chambers being disposed on an inside of each of the side portions. Respective gel packs are also provided which are adapted to be inserted into one of the respective openings of the pockets in between the air bladder and at least one of the lower leg or the ankle. The gel packs are pressed against at least one of the lower leg and the ankle by the corresponding inflatable chamber of the air bladder.
BODY TEMPERATURE REGULATION
A body temperature regulation device includes a wearable article, an enclosure on the article and defining an air path through the body temperature regulation device, a heat exchange system within the enclosure and extending through the article to expose a surface of the heat exchange system at an inner surface of the article, and a blower attached to the article and positioned to direct an air flow through the heat exchange system. The article may be worn on a human limb with the surface of the heat exchanger contacting a wearer at a body location where blood flows close to skin. Heat flows through the heat exchanger between the wearer and air flow to heat or cool the blood flows and to regulate the body temperature of the wearer.
HAND-SHAPED STRAPPED ICE PACK APPARATUS
A hand-shaped strapped ice pack apparatus for first aid and novelty includes a glove body having a dorsal side, a ventral side, and a sealed bottom side to form an inner cavity. The glove body has a wrist portion, a palm portion, and a finger portion. A gel pack is coupled within the inner cavity and has a specific heat configured to function as an ice pack or a heat pack. A pair of second hook and loop fasteners is coupled to an inside of a strap adjacent a first end and a second end. The pair of second hook and loop fasteners is selectively engageable with a plurality of first hook and loop fasteners coupled to the dorsal side of the glove body. The strap is configured to secure the glove body to a user's body.
Targeted Temperature Management Pad Design
Disclosed herein is a system, apparatus and method directed to an orientable and resizable targeted temperature management (TTM) pad. The system, apparatus and method pertain to a medical pad for exchanging thermal energy between a TTM fluid and a patient. The pad can include a fluid containing layer for containing the TTM fluid, a patient contact surface to facilitate thermal energy exchange with the patient, a central trunk structure, and at least two wings branching from the central trunk structure. The fluid containing layer can be configured for circulating the TTM fluid within the fluid containing layer. The patient contact surface can be disposed at least on part of the central trunk structure. The at least two wings can be configured to be wrapped around a portion of a body of the patient. The central trunk structure may be positioned beneath the patient. The wings may be trimmed, reducing the pad's size.
Facilitated Kinking Fold Pads
Disclosed herein is a system, apparatus and method directed to reducing patient contact area of a medical pad for exchanging thermal energy between a targeted temperature management (TTM) fluid and a patient. The system, apparatus and method pertain to a medical pad that includes a fluid containing layer for containing the TTM fluid and a patient contact surface. The fluid containing layer is configured for circulating the TTM fluid within the fluid containing layer. The patient contact surface defines a patient contact area to facilitate thermal energy exchange with the patient. The pad can be segmented into a main pad section and one or more foldable sections configured to be folded by a user, thereby reducing the patient contact area. The circulation of the TTM fluid within the fluid containing layer may be constricted by a fold of the one or more foldable sections while folded.
APPLICATOR WITH INTERNAL CHAMBERS FOR DISPENSING THERAPEUTIC FLUIDS
An applicator has a stem, one or more tips, and one or more chambers which may hold therapeutic or medicinal fluids. The applicator may be separated into two sections so the tips can be used independently. The fluids held in the chambers may be separated with one or more frangible walls which can be broken to release or mix the fluids. The tips are used as applicators for the therapeutic or medicinal effects produced by the fluids or the medicines contained in the cavity.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COOLING OR HEATING A HUMAN BODY PART
A system for cooling or heating a body part includes at least one bladder, a pump, a heat exchanger, a first fluid line in fluid communication with the heat exchanger and the at least one bladder, a second fluid line in fluid communication with the at least one bladder and the heat exchanger, a main reservoir and a separator. The heat exchanger is in fluid communication with the pump. The first fluid line is located downstream from the heat exchanger and the second fluid line is located downstream from the at least one bladder when the system is operating to cool or heat the body part. The separator is in fluid communication with the main reservoir and the pump and is located below the main reservoir to receive fluid under the influence of gravity from the main reservoir and to deliver fluid to the pump via gravity.
DEFORMABLE THERMAL PACK
Thermal packs including: a pouch containing a thermal source; and a bendable and deformable support attached to or disposed within the pouch, the support configured such that the pouch is deformed into a shape matching a contour of a body part and the pouch is maintained in the shape while applied to the body part by the support, where the support includes members, each of which having a cup at a first end and a ball at a second end, the ball of one of members being rotatably fitted within the cup of an adjacent one of the members; one or more wires encased in a casing or an loop or hook fastener such that a flap, having an other of the hook or loop fastener, extended from the pouch is folded over the support to retain the support adjacent to the pouch.
