Sterile drape without air-trapping wrinkles for use in warming system

Drapes for covering fluid heating devices having basins. Some drapes have a set of at least one positioning component trapped between the drape basin layer and the drape device layer by a set of bonds. The positioning component aligns the drape with the basin bottom. Optionally, the drape may have a low-slip film for basin contact and a non-slip film for at least a portion of the drape beyond the basin. Alternatively, a single layer drape may have a set of at least one positioning component bonded to the drape. Some drapes have basin-shaped sterile vented barrier with vents to allow the sterile vented barrier to be inserted into the basin and to vent air out of the basin. The heating system for the fluid heating device may interrupt electricity provided to a heating element when a temperature sensed at an air gap detector exceeds a high temperature setpoint.

FREEZABLE PAD FOR PAIN RELIEF

A pad for treating a perineal area of a woman before or after childbirth includes a foam layer and a substance integrated with the foam layer. The foam layer is flexible, so that it can conform to the perineal area of the woman. The pad may optionally include a skin contact layer made of an impermeable material. The foam layer and/or the optional skin contact layer may include openings, such as perforations or slits. A method of using the pad may involve placing the pad in the perineal area before or after childbirth. The pad may be frozen, cooled or heated before use, in different embodiments.

Facial Cold Compress Assembly
20210007886 · 2021-01-14 ·

A facial cold compress assembly for reducing facial swelling includes a strip that has a pair of pouches each being integrated into the strip. The strip is wearable on a user's face having the strip extending across the user's nose and beneath each of the user's eyes. In this way the strip is aligned with the user's nasal pathways. The strip is comprised of a thermally conductive material such that the strip is in thermal communication with the user's face when the strip is worn. An adhesive layer is bonded to the strip to retain the strip on the user's face. A pair of thermal packs is each removably positionable into a respective one of the pouches. Each of the thermal packs is positionable in a refrigerator for chilling and subsequently reducing swelling on the user's face and reduce congestion in the user's nasal pathways when the strip is worn.

Therapeutic eye pod system

An orbital temperature treatment kit has a new container base, hinged cover and handle. An inner partition in the base is a mount for electrical features and a heat exchanger with transfer fins and a heat sink. The inner partition has recesses for temperature change of pods held in spaces between parallel fins. The frame for holding the pods in place for treatment has two large lenses, a nose piece joining the lenses and hinged temples. The lenses support slotted receivers with fasteners that engage fasteners on tabs attached to the pods.

Apparatus for heating or cooling a material contained therein

There is described an apparatus for heating or cooling a material to be heated or to be cooled. The apparatus includes: a first compartment for containing the material to be heated or to be cooled; and a second compartment containing a phase change material, wherein the phase change material is either for generating heat to heat the first compartment or absorbing heat to cool the first compartment when undergoing a phase change. There are further described various different activating arrangements for activating a change of phase of the phase change material.

ICE THERAPY METHOD AND APPARATUS

A method of using an ice therapy machine involves replacing water with windshield washer fluid containing ethanol or ethylene glycol, and placing the main unit of the ice therapy machine, including the ice chest and pump, in a freezer to prevent the ice in the ice chest from melting. The freezer has been modified to include openings for passage of the fluid-circulating tubes of the ice therapy machine, and an opening for the power cord of the ice therapy machine, which supplies power to the pump. Alternatively, the door of the freezer may be replaced by an insulated panel having openings for the coolant circulating tubes and power cord. An on/off switch may be installed in the power cord so that the pump can be turned on and off without having to open the freezer door.
