SELF-ADHERING THERAPY PACK
20180000636 · 2018-01-04 ·

A therapy pack system provides a reusable self-adhering therapy pack to skin. The therapy pack may be for example, an ice pack, heat pack or hot and cold pack. A sticky polymer gel is mounted onto a polymer casing of the therapy pack. The polymer gel is re-usable to attach the therapy pack to a user's skin at the site needing therapy. The polymer gel also buffers the skin from heat or freezer burn associated with applying a hot/cold pack to skin for an extended period. A chloride based compound may be added to the polymer gel to prevent the gel from freezing. In some embodiments, a non-woven fabric patch may support the polymer gel adhesive providing an additional layer of protection to the skin while simultaneously allowing the gel to self-adhere the therapy pack to the user.

Devices configured to provide treatment at an Abreu brain thermal tunnel

Provided are devices for therapeutic interaction with an Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) terminus. Such devices are configured to provide one or more drugs to an ABTT terminus, and may provide heat to or remove heat from the ABTT terminus while providing the one or more drugs.

TOPICAL FORMULATIONS

The present disclosure is drawn to topical formulations and related methods. In one embodiment, a topical formulation is provided that includes an active agent, a first compound, and a second compound. The first compound and second compound are different and each is selected from the group consisting of N-lauroyl sarcosine, sodium octyl sulfate, methyl laurate, isopropyl myristate, oleic acid, glyceryl oleate, and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate.

Heat Exchange Catheters and Their Methods of Manufacture and Use
20170182286 · 2017-06-29 ·

A closed loop catheter useable for heat exchange is manufactured by forming a plurality of generally transverse bore holes though a flexible, multilumen catheter body, lacing a tube trough the bore holes so that loops of the tube protrude from the catheter body, connecting one end of the tube to an inflow lumen of the catheter and connecting the other end of the tube to an outflow lumen of the catheter. A heated or cooled heat exchange medium may then be circulated through the tube while the catheter is inserted in the vasculature of a subject, thereby resulting in heat exchange between the subject's flowing blood and the heat exchange medium being circulated through the tube.

Moist heat therapy compress

A moist heat therapy compress for therapeutic treatment of a treated body part. The moist heat therapy compress includes a fluid-permeable shell, a flexible backing fastened to the shell to define an enclosure, and hydrophilic zeolite fill granules loosely contained within the enclosure. The moist heat therapy compress is exposed to a source of moisture to cause absorption of water into the hydrophilic zeolite, and the moisture is delivered from the hydrophilic zeolite through the fluid permeable shell to the treated body portion.

Topical formulations for treating skin conditions

The present disclosure is drawn to topical formulations and related methods. In one embodiment, a topical formulation is provided that includes at least one corticosteroid, a first compound, and a second compound. The first compound and second compound are different and each is selected from the group consisting of N-lauroyl sarcosine, sodium octyl sulfate, methyl laurate, isopropyl myristate, oleic acid, glyceryl oleate, and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate.

A SMART COOLING PASTE

The present disclosure provides a smart cooling paste. The smart cooling paste comprises: a cooling paste body and a temperature sensing module, a touch display module and a control module. The cooling paste body comprises a carrier and a gel layer located on the carrier. The temperature sensing module, the touch display module and the control module are fixed on the carrier. A sensing surface of the temperature sensing module and a surface of the gel layer away from the carrier are in a same plane, for sensing temperature of forehead. The control module is used for obtaining a sensed temperature and transmitting the sensed temperature to the touch display module. A screen of the touch display module is located on a surface of the carrier away from the gel layer.

APPARATUS AND METHODS OF INDUCING WEIGHT LOSS USING BLOOD FLOW CONTROL

Methods and apparatus for inducing weight loss using blood flow control are described herein. The apparatus and methods operate by controlling blood flow to the stomach and/or small bowel.

LIGHT AND/OR ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER DEVICE WITH ELECTRICAL STIMULATION

A flexible device having a layered structure for delivering electrical stimulation and one or both of light and ultrasound to a skin surface is provided. The device is flexible so as to form a non-planar contact surface against the skin surface, and includes one or both of (a) a flexible light emitter layer positioned between two flexible conductive layers that emits light when driven by a power source and (b) a flexible ultrasound emitter layer positioned between two flexible conductive layers that produces ultrasound when driven by a power source. The device also includes a flexible electrical stimulation layer that functions as an electrode and is configured to provide electrical stimulation when driven by a power source.
