Motor gasoline with improved octane and method of use

Provided are octane enhancing additives and methods that improve a liquid fuel composition's octane rating. A liquid fuel composition may comprise a liquid fuel and an octane enhancing additive. The octane enhancing additive may comprise an indoline compound with a bicyclic ring structure, wherein the indoline compound comprises a six-membered aromatic ring and a five-membered aliphatic ring that share a carbon-carbon aromatic bond. The five-membered aliphatic ring may be heterocyclic and may comprise a nitrogen positioned in an alpha position to the six-membered aromatic ring.

High octane unleaded aviation gasoline

Unleaded aviation gasoline. An aviation gasoline fuel blend includes an unleaded aviation gasoline base fuel, with an effective amount of selected alkyl benzenes to improve the functional engine performance to avoid harmful detonation sufficient to meet or exceed selected standards for detonation performance requirements in full scale aircraft piston spark ignition engines designed for use with Grade 100LL avgas. Selected alkyl benzenes such as 1,3-dimethylbenzene, and/or 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, or other mixtures thereof, may be used. Suitable alkylated benzenes may include a mixture of xylene isomers. Aromatic amines, such as m-toluidine, may also be added to increase MON. Base fuels may be a high quality aviation alkylate, or may be a commercial iso-octane, or a mixture of high quality aviation alkylate enhanced by commercial iso-octane, and may include iso-pentane or butane or both iso-pentane and butane in sufficient quantity to provide appropriate vapor pressure for the final fuel blend.

ANTIFOULING COMPOSITIONS FOR PETROLEUM PROCESS STREAMS
20210246390 · 2021-08-12 ·

Disclosed herein are antifouling compositions including a combination of one or more dispersant polymers and one or more inhibitors, the one or more dispersant polymers including the polymerized residues of one or more a-olefins and maleic anhydride, further wherein the maleic anhydride residues are reacted with a primary amine; and the one or more inhibitors including a functionalized p-phenylene diamine. Concentrates of the antifouling compositions in solvents are stable and pourable at temperatures of 0° C. to −40° C. The antifouling compositions are added to a petroleum product to form a treated petroleum product, wherein fouling by the treated petroleum product is reduced and a stable dispersion is formed over a wide range of processing conditions.

BLENDED GASOLINE COMPOSITION

Gasoline product containing combustion improver and manufacturing method therefor

Provided is a gasoline product containing a combustion improver, and a method for preparing the gasoline product. The combustion improver is added to gasoline to reduce an octane number and thus an ignition point of the gasoline, so that the gasoline product can be used in a compression ignition internal combustion engine. The combustion improver-containing gasoline product is a low-octane number gasoline, and is capable of being ignited through compression by an internal combustion engine having a compression ratio in the range from 12 to 22.

Catalysis of the reaction between hydrogen sulfide scavengers and hydrogen sulfide using tertiary amines
20230416630 · 2023-12-28 ·

While some triazines have low reactivity, a method and composition is described for improving their reactivity. The H.sub.2S scavenging composition and method utilizes a tertiary amine to catalyze the scavengers with slower kinetics to achieve improved results over traditional systems with the scavenger alone. A hydrogen sulfide scavenging composition comprises: a tertiary amine as a catalyst in at least one of (i) a triazine scavenger selected from the group consisting of: methyl amine, C2-C5 alkyl amine, dimethylaminopropylamine, isopropanolamine, aniline, cyclohexylamine, isobutanolamine and methoxypropylamine triazines/bisoxazolidines; or (ii) an aldehyde-based scavenger such as glyoxal.
