The invention provides a grease composition for lubrication of a sliding surface made of resin, including a fluorine-based base oil and a synthetic hydrocarbon oil as a base oil; a fluorine-based thickener, and a lithium soap thickener or a lithium complex soap thickener as a thickener; and an extreme pressure additive as an additive. The invention also provides a sliding member including a sliding surface made of a resin wherein the grease composition for lubrication is applied to the sliding surface made of a resin.

FORMULATION APPROACH TO EXTEND THE HIGH TEMPERATURE PERFORMANCE OF LITHIUM COMPLEX GREASES

The present disclosure provides a lithium complex grease with high-temperature resistivity and a method of using the same. The lithium complex grease includes: a lithium complex thickener, a friction modifier, a polymer or copolymer, and at least one synthetic base oil with alkylated naphthalene. The lithium complex grease can be substantially free of polytetrafluoroethylene. Furthermore, the lithium complex grease provides a median failure rate via a ball bearing test (e.g., using the FE9 grease life test method of DIN 51 821) performed at 160 C. of no less than 100 hours.

GREASE COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GREASE COMPOSITION, AND METHOD FOR USING GREASE COMPOSITION

Provided is a grease composition which is excellent in fire extinguishing performance without water and can suppress fuming, malodor, and liquefaction on burning and a method for producing the grease composition.

A grease composition contains a base oil (A), a thickener (B), and a fire retardant (C), wherein the base oil (A) contains a base oil (A1) having a 40 C. kinematic viscosity of 300 mm.sup.2/s or more, a sulfur content of 20 ppm by mass or less, and an initial boiling point of 400 C. or higher, the fire retardant (C) is at least one of aluminum hydroxide (C1) and 1,3,5-triazine-1,3,5 (2H, 4H, 6H)-tris(ethanol) (C2), and a content of the fire retardant (C) is 1.0 to 12.0 mass % based on a total amount of the grease composition.

GREASE COMPOSITION AND ROLLING BEARING

The present invention is a grease composition, comprising a fluorine-based grease, a urea-based grease and a soap-based grease (a calcium complex soap thickener, a calcium soap thickener, a barium soap thickener, a magnesium soap thickener or a sodium soap thickener), and a rolling bearing in which the grease composition is filled.

GREASE COMPOSITION

Provided herein is a grease composition capable of reducing an amount of wear in sliding parts of various members of automobiles, electrical devices, and the like. The grease composition includes a lubricant base oil, a thickener, an amide compound, and at least one of an -hydroxycarboxylic acid metal salt, and an -hydroxycarboxylic acid metal salt. A grease composition for an electric power steering device, containing a synthetic hydrocarbon oil which exhibits a density of 0.75 to 0.95 g/cm.sup.3 at 15 C., a saturated aliphatic amide compound, boron nitride, a glycerin fatty acid partial ester, and a metal soap-based thickener; and an electric power steering device using the grease composition.

Provided are both a grease composition for an electric power steering device and an electric power steering device. The grease composition can keep a sufficiently low coefficient of friction in a sliding area between a steel and a resin over a long period, is less susceptible to being removed from the sliding area, does not cause break down of an oil film, and thus can minimize the occurrence of stick-slips. A grease composition for an electric power steering device, containing a synthetic hydrocarbon oil which exhibits a density of 0.75 to 0.95 g/cm.sup.3 at 15 C., a saturated aliphatic amide compound, boron nitride, a glycerin fatty acid partial ester, and a metal soap-based thickener; and an electric power steering device using the grease composition.
