Compositions containing one or more poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compounds
Compositions comprising cellulase and at least one poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compound having a degree of substitution with an organic group of about 0.05-3.0 are disclosed. Such compositions can be dry or aqueous, the latter of which can have a viscosity of at least about 10 cPs. The disclosed composition can be in the form of a personal care product, household product, or industrial product, for example. Also disclosed are a method for preparing an aqueous composition comprising cellulase and a poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compound, and a method of treating a material such as fabric by contacting it with this aqueous composition.

Specifically, provided are a solid preparation having an alkyl cellulose having a specific surface area by BET method of 0.5 to 10.0 m.sup.2/g and a dissolution start temperature of 5 to 27° C.; and a method for producing a solid preparation having the steps of: mixing a cellulose pulp and a first alkali metal hydroxide solution with stirring to obtain alkali cellulose, reacting the alkali cellulose with an alkylating agent to obtain a first reaction mixture, mixing the first reaction mixture and a second alkali metal hydroxide solution with stirring and without further addition of any alkylating agent to obtain a second reaction mixture, and pulverizing an alkyl cellulose isolated from the second reaction mixture to obtain an alkyl cellulose.

Disclosed are microcapsule compositions having a microcapsule that contains a microcapsule core and a microcapsule shell encapsulating the microcapsule core. The microcapsule has a particle size of 1 micron to 100 microns in diameter. The microcapsule core contains an active material. The microcapsule shell is formed of at least three moieties, in which a first moiety is derived from a polygalactomannan, a second moiety is derived from a polyisocyanate, and a third moiety is derived from a multi-functional aldehyde or a tannic acid.

A laundry care or dish care composition can include a poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative, wherein the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative includes: (i) a poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone of glucose monomer units, wherein greater than or equal to 40% of the glucose monomer units are linked via alpha-1,6 glycosidic linkages, and optionally at least 5% of the backbone glucose monomer units have branches via alpha-1,2 and/or alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages; and (ii) at least one hydrophobic organic group linked to the poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone through an ether (—O—) linkage moiety; wherein, the poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone has a weight average degree of polymerization of at least 5; wherein, the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative has a degree of substitution of ether linkage moiety of from 0.20 to 1.00; wherein the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative is substantially free from hydrophilic substitution.
