THERMOTHERAPY PACK FOR THE GROIN
Disclosed is a therapy pack for applying thermotherapy to a user's groin for treatment of various conditions or injuries, and to aid in surgical recovery. The therapy pack has an insulated side and an uninsulated side, a two-lobed shape with a soft outer border, and contains a quantity of thermal storage material. The therapy pack also includes one or more window(s) without thermal storage material to reduce proximity of the material to genitalia. Embodiments include a three-window version and a single window version. Embodiments also include the use of one or more supplemental therapy pack(s) and a cover. Also disclosed is a method of using the therapy pack to apply thermotherapy to the male groin. Embodiments of the method include applying the therapy pack with the insulated side facing the user's skin, followed by applying the pack with the uninsulated side facing the skin.
Heel protector and corresponding rehabilitation systems and methods for using the same
A heel protector (100) includes a leg engaging section (101) and a foot engaging section (102) intersecting at a heel receiver (103). The leg engaging section (101) and the foot engaging section (102) define a leg insertion aperture (104). The leg engaging section (101) defines at least one aperture (203) disposed in an ankle region (205) to permit a connection tube (1002) extending from an inflatable bladder (901) of a compression device (800) to pass therethrough. The heel protector (100) and compression device (800) work together as a rehabilitation system (1300).
Cooling tool and treatment tool used in cryotherapy
A human body is cooled at an appropriate temperature, and a sufficient usage time is ensured. A cooling tool according to one aspect of the present invention is a cooling tool for cooling a human body, including a freezing material 30a that undergoes a phase change at a particular temperature and a first container containing the freezing material 30a. The first container transfers heat between the human body and the freezing material at a contact surface in contact with the skin of the human body. At least the contact surface has a thermal effusivity within the possible range of thermal effusivity of the skin of the human body. The contact surface may have a thermal effusivity (J/(m2˜S1/2.Math.K)) of 1,000 to 2,000.
Mouth piece for cooling of oral tissue of a user during therapeutic treatment
The invention is directed to a mouth piece for cooling of oral tissue of a patient during chemotherapy treatment. The mouth piece includes a cooling medium contained within the top element and the bottom element and able to retain a cooling environment within the mouth sufficient to reduce capillary blood flow to the patient's mouth. In one embodiment, an external chamber extends from the front of the mouth piece to house a cooling medium. The external chamber can be configured so that it is removably attached to the mouth piece. A support device can be utilized to support the external chamber during use.
DEFORMABLE THERMAL PACK
A thermal pack including: a flexible pouch body having a plurality of pouch segments each defining a cavity; and one or more hook and loop straps attached to a first end of the pouch body, where the pouch body has an opening for accepting a second end of the hook and loop strap for securing the pouch body to a body part. The thermal pack can also include a bendable and deformable support frame having at least two twisted wires on at least two longer sides of the pouch body and/or metallic cubes disposed in each of the cavities of the pouch segments, each of the metallic cubes having a metallic shell defining a cavity with a freezable substance.
Eyebrow Treatment Device
A treatment device worn on top and around a user's eyebrows providing therapeutic benefits.
Breast separating and cooling device and method
A device for separating and spacing breasts to reduce perspiration is provided. The device is designed primarily for use with a female undergarment, but may be used without an undergarment. The device elevates and separates the breasts from each other. Placement of the device under the breast elevates the breast to separate the skin on the underside of the breast from the skin of the user's torso. Airflow under the breasts is greatly enhanced by the device, with additional airflow provided by way of spaced apertures positioned along the device. The device has a hollow interior which may be filled with a cooling gel.
Simultaneous thermal and cooling therapeutic device
A therapeutic device combines both hot and cold therapy to work simultaneously together. The therapeutic device has a first portion being made of a material capable of being heated to a first temperature and a second portion having a fastener capable of connecting to a cold pack having a second temperature. The application of both hot and cold to the site of an injury of a user stimulates blood circulation to an injured muscle with heat and reduces inflammation with cold to facilitate a faster and more efficient recovery process of the afflicted area.
CAPSAICIN SEQUENTIAL DOSING METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF KNEE JOINT PAIN
The invention provides methods and compositions for sequential dosing of capsaicin to treat knee joint pain in a patient, such as knee joint pain due to osteoarthritis, while minimizing transient burning sensation experienced by patients due to capsaicin administration.
FERTILITY-ENHANCING COOLING SEAT
A fertility-enhancing cooling seat for lowering temperatures of human testicles so as to increase sperm quality and quantity. The cooling seat includes: a top flexible portion and a base portion; a bottom flexible portion coupled to the top flexible portion, the bottom flexible portion forming a seal with the base portion, portions of the bottom flexible portion and portions of the top flexible portion defining isolated cooling cells with cooling-cell volumetric spaces; a phase-change material located in the cooling-cell volumetric spaces, the phase-change material configured to change from a solid phase to a liquid phase at a first temperature and that is configured to change from a liquid phase to a solid phase at a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature. At least one of the isolated cooling cells defines a diameter that is larger than a diameter of the other of the cooling cells.
