Eye Drop Dispenser

An eye drop dispenser having a dispensing body configured to be removably secured to a bottle holding a dispensing solution. The dispenser includes a dispensing tip in fluid communication with the bottle for dispensing solution that flows from the bottle out the dispensing tip. The dispenser includes a cheek rest arm that includes a curved portion configured to be positioned adjacent a cheekbone of a user and a cheek rest portion that is positioned along a length of a cheek of the user when the curved portion of the cheek rest arm is positioned adjacent the cheekbone of the user. When the dispensing body is secured to the bottle and the curved portion of the cheek rest arm is positioned adjacent the cheekbone of the user, the dispensing tip is positioned adjacent an eye of the user for dispensing solution into the eye by gravity.

INTRAOCULAR DELIVERY OF BIOACTIVE MOLECULES USING IONTOPHORESIS

Iontophoresis, a minimally-invasive methodology that uses a weak electric current to enhance penetration of ionized molecules into tissues, was found to be an effective technique for the intraocular delivery of large bioactive molecules, specifically lutein.

DEVICE FOR CAUSING TEARS TO BE SECRETED
20230309969 · 2023-10-05 ·

An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a device for stimulating tear secretion including a container body including a rim capable of coming into close contact with a face in a region around an eye, the container body defining therein a gas-receiving space capable of being filled with gas generated by an eye irritant.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONVENIENT AND ACCURATE PLACEMENT OF EYE DROPS

The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus for administration of ophthalmic medicaments into a patient’s eye. Apparatus may include a wire form with a horizontal upper frame, temples that rest on or hook over the ears, nose pads, and semi-circular receivers to accept the tip of an eye drop-dispenser bottle. In some examples, the apparatus may be enhanced for the purposes of aiding the application of eyedrops by a deep upper horizontal frame that rests on the forehead to prevent the apparatus, and thereby the eye dropper bottle, from approaching the eye too closely.

IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO A VISUAL GUIDE

A visual guide for assisting a user with the positioning of an object relative to the user’s eye is provided. The visual guide comprises: a first positioning indicator provided on an axis; and a second positioning indicator, visually distinct from the first. The first and second positioning indicators are offset along the axis. Furthermore, visual contact of the first and second positioning indicators occurs when the object is located within a predetermined locus of the user’s eye.

Ocular injector and methods for accessing suprachoroidal space of the eye

An ocular medical injector is provided for drug delivery. A method includes inserting a puncture member of the medical injector into the eye until the puncture member reaches the SCS. The puncture member defines a lumen therethrough. With the puncture member disposed within the SCS, a flexible cannula is advanced distally through the lumen of the puncture member, beyond the distal end portion of the puncture member and along the SCS towards a posterior region of the eye. The flexible cannula has an atraumatic distal tip and defines a lumen therethrough. With the distal tip of the flexible cannula disposed within the SCS beyond a distal end portion of the puncture member, a therapeutic substance is administered to the SCS.

Augmented and virtual reality display systems and methods for diagnosing health conditions based on visual fields

Configurations are disclosed for a health system to be used in various healthcare applications, e.g., for patient diagnostics, monitoring, and/or therapy. The health system may comprise a light generation module to transmit light or an image to a user, one or more sensors to detect a physiological parameter of the user's body, including their eyes, and processing circuitry to analyze an input received in response to the presented images to determine one or more health conditions or defects.

Medication-coated patient interface device for ophthalmic laser surgery

A patient interface device for use in ophthalmic surgery, which includes a rigid body and a suction ring joined to a lower end of the body, where the suction ring includes an annular skirt made of a soft and flexible material and located at a lower end of the suction ring, and where an inner surface, and optionally an outer surface, of the skirt is coated with medication. The medication includes one or more of the following types of medication: anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, numbing, lubricating, and anti-redness. The coating method may include dip coating, sputter deposition, ultrasonic-spraying, and spin-coating. The skirt may be formed by a process that increases its material porosity and/or surface roughness, and may be surface-treated to enhance adhesion and retention of the medication.

OPHTHALMIC DRUG DELIVERY

The present invention includes and provides a method of delivering a medicament to an eye of a subject in need thereof a solution, the method comprising: (a) providing droplets containing the medicament with a specified average size and average initial ejecting velocity; and (b) delivering the medicament to the eye, where the droplets deliver a percentage of the ejected mass of the droplets to the eye.

Eyeopener

A device for washing eyes that allows for single-handed dispensing of fluid into a user's eye. The device consists of a container and a container locator. The container locator includes a cap with a base-supporting member that supports an arced base suspended above the cap. In use, the user holds the device with one hand and rests the arced base on the user's brow to control the direction of the fluid expelled from the container into the user's eye while fingers on the other hand reach through gaps in the base-supporting member to hold the user's eye open.
