OPTICAL FILTER
20180239171 · 2018-08-23 ·

An optical filter including a polymeric multilayer optical film is provided. The optical film has a reflection band having a reflection band edge that is, independent of location, one of a short wavelength band edge at a short wavelength side of the reflection band and a long wavelength band edge at a long wavelength side of the reflection band. The reflection band edge has a normal incidence reflection band edge wavelength that varies with location and that is a first wavelength at a first location and a second wavelength at a second location different from the first location. The first wavelength may be higher than the second wavelength by at least 2 percent.

MELANOPSIN BLOCKER

Methods and devices are described that relate to spectral filters and associated eyewear that are specifically designed to block emissions of circadian-active blue light to reach the observer. An example wearable device includes one or more windows positioned to allow light from a light source to propagate toward a position of a wearer's eyes, and a spectral filter that comprises a coating positioned on one or more sections of the one or more windows. The spectral filter includes a multi-layer stack of dielectric material. The number and thicknesses of the layers are selected to provide designed transmission and blocking characteristics. The designed characteristics include a contiguous blocking region that blocks 98-100% of the circadian-active spectra and two contiguous transmission regions that transmit 80%-100% of the spectral content outside of the circadian-active spectra.

Disclosed herein, inter alia, are a method, system and a kit for improving a defined condition in a subject, the method comprising selecting a set of one or more correction zones, being surface zones on the surface of the subject's skin or defined angular zones in the subject's field of view, the one or more correction zones being associated with the condition; and placing the one or more correcting elements in said one or more correction zones to thereby cause improvement in said condition. Also provided herein are methods and systems for providing such correction zones related to a defined condition in a subject or to a defined cause in a subject being associated with a defined condition.

GOGGLES FOR RECEIVING AT LEAST ONE RADIATION PROTECTION MATERIAL
20180192971 · 2018-07-12 · ·

The present invention relates to goggles, in particular radiation protection goggles, for receiving at least one radiation protection material which protects the eyes of a patient from radiation being harmful to the eyes, in particular -radiation and/or x-ray radiation and/or gamma radiation. The goggles comprise: two goggle frames, each having a continuously circumferential side wall structure completely enclosing an area around the respective eye of the patient, a length-adjustable connection element between the two goggle frames in the area of the patient's nose in order to change the distance between the two goggle frames relative to one another, and at least one length-adjustable holding element for fixing the two goggle frames at the patient's head. The side wall structures are configured for receiving at least one radiation protection material substantially completely around its circumference.

Depth Filter for Visual Prostheses

The present invention is a depth sensing visual prosthesis. By depth sensing objects within an image, items located at a certain depths from the user can be removed to declutter an image. The resulting image presents only objects within a range of depth from the visual prosthesis user. Depth sensing can be accomplished in various ways including structured light, time of flight, or preferably, a stereo camera pair.

Optical Head-Mounted Displays for Laser Safety Eyewear

According to certain examples, a head-mounted apparatus includes a safety eyewear component and an optical display coupled to the safety eyewear component. The safety eyewear component is configured to be worn of a head of an operator and to block transmission of a laser light therethrough. The optical display is configured to receive data associated with the laser light and to display a visual representation of the laser light in a field of view of the operator. In other examples, an apparatus includes a display, a sensor, at least one processor and at least one memory storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to receive, from the sensor, data associated with a laser light, process the data, and provide an image to the display, such as a representation of the laser light.
