Devices, kits and methods described herein may be for wound healing, including the treatment, amelioration, or prevention of scars and/or keloids by applying and/or maintaining a pre-determined strain in an elastic skin treatment device that is then affixed to the skin surface using skin adhesives to transfer a generally planar force from the bandage to the skin surface. Applicators are used to apply and/or maintain the strains, and some of the applicators are further configured to provide at least some mechanical advantage to the user when exerting loads onto the skin treatment device.

A re-closable wound dressing is provided. A base layer is operable to be attached to a skin of a patient. The base layer forms a pre-fabricated aperture through which a wound of the patient is accessible. A cover layer is coupled with the base layer. The cover layer is operable to cover the pre-fabricated aperture, and is permanently adhered to the base layer along at least a portion of the cover layer. The base layer and the cover layer are made of like materials.

A wound closure device and a method of its use are disclosed. The wound closure device comprises a wound closure strip, the wound closure strip comprising a wound-facing side and a top side, the wound-facing side comprises an adhesive applied over at least a portion of the wound facing side of the wound closure strip and a non-symmetric, two-part release liner assembly detachably adhered to the adhesive, the release liner assembly comprising a first section and a second section with the second section comprising a wound closure strip-free portion forming a tab. In an alternate embodiment, the device is multi-segmented and the wound closure strip may be coextensive with the release liner assembly.

The invention relates to a patch for administering an active substance to the skin of a subject. The present patches simplify manufacture and improve reproducibility of results, facilitate, and enhance the consistency of application of the patches to a subject, and demonstrate improved initial and long-term adhesion with reduced risk of premature detachment.

A cover for protecting a tissue site may comprise a shell layer, an adhesive disposed on the shell layer, and a contact layer disposed adjacent to the adhesive. The contact layer may have a first pattern of apertures and bridges, and the shell layer may have a second pattern of apertures overlaying the bridges. In some examples, the adhesive may have a bond strength that is greater than the tensile modulus of the shell layer. The contact layer may have an open area of about 40 percent to about 50 percent of the total area of the contact layer. A release liner may be disposed adjacent to the contact layer. Perforations through the shell layer and the contact layer can define a sacrificial segment configured to be separated from the shell layer and the contact layer. A handling bar may be coupled to the sacrificial segment.

The present disclosure provides, inter-alia, an apparatus for wound-dressing. In particular, embodiments of the disclosure provide a wound-dressing apparatus comprising a wrapping element and a pad element, wherein the pad element is foldable and comprises at least one removable portion.

The handles are essentially linear elongated cylinders that allow the user of the Aid to grasp the Aid and apply the necessary leverage to open the compression stocking for application. The sock applicator assembly is comprised of two sock applicators. The bracket assembly is comprised of a back plate, a front plate, a ratcheting plate, a ratcheting dog, a pivot fastener, a ratcheting dog fastener, and padding. The ratcheting plate forms ratcheting teeth that engage with the ratcheting dog while the handles are moved inward.
