WOUND COVERING APPARATUS
20230338195 · 2023-10-26 ·

The present disclosure relates to apparatus for covering a burn or other wound in ways that prevent or limit touching the wound. The present disclosure describes Burn Bandages that may include domes or structures that bridge over a wide range of a burn or wound size. In certain instances these structures may expand in one or more directions as they are adjusted to fit to a particular burn or wound size. Such bridging structures may include airways, openings, or voids that promote air/oxygen flow to the wound as the Burn Bandage sits upon surfaces or pads that contact healthy surrounding tissue while they cover a wound site. The apparatus may be any shape including, yet not limited to, a circle, a rectangle, a square, a hexagon, an octagon, an oval, a cone, a cylinder, have a semi-cylindrical shape, or that have any another geometric shape.

Systems and methods for protecting umbilical stumps

A device for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: a shield having a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient; and an opening at the shield for allowing an umbilical catheter to extend therethrough. A method for protecting an umbilical stump-catheter interface, includes: providing a device having a shield with a wall that defines a cavity for accommodating an umbilical stump, wherein the shield further includes a base for attachment to a patient, and wherein the device further includes an opening at the shield; shielding the umbilical stump from an environment using the shield; and accommodating an umbilical catheter using the opening at the shield.

CONFORMABLE MEDICAL DRESSING WITH SELF SUPPORTING SUBSTRATE

A medical dressing comprising a backing layer and a self-supporting substrate. The backing layers form a perimeter around the self-supporting substrate and holds the self-supporting substrate in place on a wound. The medical dressing forms a sealed environment surrounding the wound such that a negative pressure can be maintained in the sealed environment through the valve.

Dome Bandage

A dome bandage is a reusable device for covering wounds, optical viewing, and protecting from external objects while wound heals. In one form, the dome bandage is composed of clear transparent synthetic ultraviolet resistant rigid shatter proof reusable shell dome with size and shape in degrees from circular to ellipticity; and from squareness to oblongness mold; with slits on the flange for attaching porous non-adhesive ribbon tape to rap around the uninjured part of the human anatomy.

BLISTER PROTECTOR CAP
20210045928 · 2021-02-18 ·

A blister protector cap incorporates features such as a hemispherical/paraboloid cap dome, which goes over a blister and attaches to the skin using an adhesive compound. The blister protector cap may have air vents located at any part of its surface for ventilation purposes and aiding the skin to heal the blister. The anterior side of the blister protector cap has a cavity in order to cover the blister and protect it from any sharp or rough objects. In an embodiment, some part of the dome is flexible. In such a configuration, an accordion-like wall structure or a corrugated wall structure can be integrated to allow for some flexibility. Furthermore, this flexible part of the dome can also have vent holes or be made of a porous material to allow air and moisture to pass through but block water molecules from passing through to the inside of dome.

Wound Covering Device
