WOUND CLOSURE SYSTEM
A wound closure includes one or more bandages. The one or more bandages include a first bandage and a second bandage. Each of the first bandage and the second bandage include a skin attachment portion having a skin fastener for attaching the bandages to a subject. Each of the first bandage and the second bandage include a closure portion having a closure fastener for attaching the closure portions with one another. The skin fastener and closure fastener may comprise an adhesive. The bandages may comprise a leg for folding over, and attaching to, the attached closure portions to form a secured folded closure. The secured folded closure may be folded generally flat against, and secured with, one of the skin attachment portions.
Haemostatic material
The present invention relates to a haemostatic material comprising a carrier layer and a material for wound contact comprising at least one haemostat in particulate, granular, powder, flake or short fibrous form. Such a haemostatic material is useful, for example, in reducing or stopping bleeding of a physiological target site in a person or animal, and can also be used to stem bleeding during medical procedures.
Optical treatment apparatus and fixing tool
An optical treatment apparatus includes: a power source unit; a light irradiation module, that irradiates an affected part with light; a spacer that is positioned between the light irradiation module and the affected part; a fixing material that applies pressure to the light irradiation module and fixes the light irradiation module at an installation position; and a shielding material that covers the light irradiation module, in which, in a case where the pressure applied by the fixing material becomes lower than predetermined pressure, supply of current is stopped.
MEDICAL DRESSING
A medical dressing for prevention of pressure ulcers is described. The dressing has a backing layer, a pad, and a body contact layer, wherein the pad is arranged between the backing layer and the body contact layer. The body contact layer has an adhesive skin contact layer and an anisotropic layer having a first (x) direction and a second (y) direction perpendicular to the first (x) direction. The anisotropic layer is stiffer in the second (y) direction than in the first (x) direction. The dressing reduces shear and compression forces on the skin and in the underlying soft tissue layers and prevents the onset of pressure ulcers.
DRESSING WITH TARGETED LOW-INTENSITY VIBRATION
Vibrational dressing systems, vibrational dressing devices, and methods for placing the same are disclosed. Vibrational dressing systems and vibrational dressing devices include a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may be contoured to a target treatment location of a subject. The second portion may be coupled to the first portion and the second portion may include a plurality of vibrational devices and a control system. Each vibrational device may vibrate the target treatment location and each vibrational device may be positioned within the second portion to correspond with a particular location on a body of the subject within the target treatment location when the first portion is coupled to the body of the subject. The control system may selectively activate one or more of the plurality of vibrational devices.
FLEXIBLE ABSORBENT BANDAGE
A bandage includes a top film, an absorbent layer and a perforated adhesive lower layer positioned under the absorbent layer for adhering the bandage to a user's skin. The absorbent layer includes at least one incision that improves the flexibility of the bandage.
WOUND DRESSING WITH ELECTRODE MULTIPLEXING AND RELATED METHODS
A wound dressing is disclosed. A wound dressing comprises a first adhesive layer, an electrode assembly, a monitor interface and a multiplexer. The first adhesive layer comprises a proximal surface configured for attachment of the wound dressing to a skin surface of a user. The electrode assembly comprises a plurality of electrodes including a first set of first electrodes. The monitor interface is configured to form a mechanical and electrical connection with a monitor device. The monitor interface comprises a coupling part and a plurality of terminals including a first terminal. The multiplexer comprises a number of N input pins and a number of M output pins. The N input pins include a first set of first input pins for connection to first electrodes of the first set of first electrodes, the first set of first pins including a first primary input pin and a first secondary input pin, and the M output pins include a first output pin. The first primary input pin is connected to a first primary electrode of the first set of first electrodes and the first secondary input pin is connected to a first secondary electrode of the first set of first electrodes, and the first output pin is connected to the first terminal of the monitor interface. The multiplexer is configured to connect the first primary input pin to the first output pin in a first multiplexer configuration and to connect the first secondary input pin to the first output pin in a second multiplexer configuration.
Choking proof peel resistant adhesive bandages placed on babies after blood tests or vaccinations
An adhesive bandage is provided which has at least four arms instead of standard two where two of which being of a different length than other two to resist its removal from skin by a baby. The adhesive bandage includes a first and a second bandage arms and a third and a fourth bandage arms. The first and second bandage arms are transverse to the third and fourth bandage arms. The first and second bandage arms are longer in length to the third and fourth bandage arms. The adhesive bandage further includes a medicated pad at an intersection of the first and second bandage arms and the third and fourth bandage arms. In one embodiment, the new bandage includes an adhesive strip and a clip such that the adhesive strip is looped through the clip. In another embodiment, the new bandage includes an adhesive strip and a Velcro strap such that the adhesive strip is looped through the Velcro strap.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING ARTICLES WITH NON-UNIFORM COATINGS
An apparatus and process for applying a coating material onto a substrate as a non-uniform layer of coating material, the method including providing a distribution manifold having a cavity and a plurality of dispensing outlets in fluid communication with the cavity, creating relative motion between a substrate and the dispensing outlets in a first direction, and dispensing coating material from the dispensing outlets while simultaneously translating the plurality of dispensing outlets in a second direction non-parallel to the first direction. Using the process, coated articles having a useful non-uniform coating or coatings can be prepared, in particular self-adhesive vapor permeable air and moisture barrier membranes for use as architectural structure wraps.
