Some embodiments of the dressing may be in the form of a multi-layer drape having an integrated tissue viability indicator system. Some embodiments may also include a system of shapes or a grid pattern printed or embossed on a surface of the drape for providing guidance during an ensuing debridement or amputation procedure.

When applied to a wearer's hand, wrist, and forearm, tension along the first strip on the anterior side of the wrist resists extension of the wrist, while tension along the second strip on the posterior side of the wrist resists flexion of the wrist. The combination of the first tension and second tension tends to immobilize the wrist against both flexion and extension.
