Inflatable Flexion-Correcting Knee Brace
A knee brace with an inflatable air bladder. In a post-surgical embodiment the brace includes a rigid shell that fits behind the knee. The rigid shell includes an inflatable air bladder on its posterior surface. A wrap is placed around the knee and the air bladder. When the air bladder is inflated, the knee is urged in the posterior directionthereby decreasing flexion. In a rehabilitative embodiment, a rigid shell is placed over the anterior portion of the knee. An air bladder is positioned between the rigid shell and the knee. The rigid shell is held in place using the securing straps of the rehabilitative brace. When the air bladder is inflated the knee is again urged in the posterior direction.
Precut adhesive body support articles and support system
The invention provides an adhesive support article for supporting a body part of a user. A single-sided stretchable adhesive tape blank is precut into a sheet having a central anchoring portion and a plurality of outwardly extending fingers. The sheet is marked with visual indicators to guide the user of the support article for applying the central anchoring portion onto a first exterior surface of the body part and for stretching the fingers before adhering them at a predetermined distance away from the central anchoring portion. The adhesive support article can also be provided in a support system with at least one corresponding body landmark article, providing further guidance for applying the support article to the desired body part.
Patellar tendon bandage
A patellar tendon bandage includes a bandage element having an inner face and an outer face and two first pressure pad bodies on the front inner face of the bandage element for building up an infra-patellar pressure. The patellar tendon bandage additionally has at least two second pressure pad bodies on the inner face of the bandage element. The two second pressure pad bodies are positioned at the sides of the two first pressure pad bodies.
Knee supporter
A knee joint supporter includes a first anchor having a loop face, a main body including second anchor, first supporting and second supporting, connections joining the anchors and connecting the first anchor and main body, a first engaging joined to the second supporting and having a hook face to stick to the loop face, a second engaging joined to the first anchor and having a hook face to stick to the loop face, and a third engaging joined to the first supporting and having a hook face to the loop face. The first anchor fastens around a thigh of a wear. The second anchor extends below popliteal region. The first supporting extends on one side from below part corresponding to a patella, and the second supporting extends on the other side of the part corresponding to the patella and crosses the first supporting below the part corresponding to the patella.
WOUND DRESSING
The invention relates to a wound dressing device for securing a dressing in position on a wound, wherein the wound dressing device comprises: a retaining device for encompassing a portion of the body; a dressing, and; a fastening element that can secure the dressing in position. The fastening element being configured at least substantially external to the retaining device, the dressing being configured at least substantially internal to the retaining device, such that the dressing can be secured to the fastening element through the retaining device. The invention also relates to a method of applying the device and to a combined dressing and fastening element.
Complementary knee and wrist supports
An exercise support structure includes a knee support having a tiered recess with a bottom wall, a lower circular tier, and an upper egg-shaped tier; and a wrist support having a tiered support structure with a bottom wall, a lower egg-shaped tier and an upper circular tier, where the knee support and the wrist support are complementary in shape and are interfittingly received in mated relation to form a block. The edges of the tiers may be beveled, forming a smooth transition therebetween. The structure may be made from a soft, durable resilient material, such as foam, silicone gel, rubber, synthetic rubber, or organic tree sap.
ELASTICALLY DEFORMABLE WOUND DRESSINGS
Described herein are dressings comprising a composite island comprising a polyurethane or foam layer coupled to an absorbent layer comprising non-woven gelling fibers. Also described herein are dressings comprising an absorbent layer comprising carboxymethyl cellulose fibers and a backing layer coupled to the absorbent layer. In the respective dressings, the absorbent layer is not elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions, whereas the polyurethane or foam layer and the backing layer are substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. The coupling of the absorbent layer to the polyurethane/foam layer or backing layer renders the coupled structure or the entire dressing substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. Methods of eliminating, minimizing, or reducing edema are also described herein.
WOUND THERAPY DEVICE, KIT, AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED APPLICATION TO WOUNDS ON COMPLEX GEOMETRIES
A negative pressure wound therapy device, kit, and method are provided for improved treatment of wounds on complex three-dimensional anatomies. The device includes a conformable manifold made of a porous and permeable material with a pattern of cuts designed to transform the manifold from a relaxed, planar state to a pliable three-dimensional state when extended along the lateral axis. The kit further may include a wound interface layer, an adhesive, breathable drape, and a pneumatic connection to a negative pressure wound therapy device. Finally, a method for treating wounds using reduced pressure and the presently disclosed kit is provided.
CLAMPING BAND
The present invention relates to a tensioning strap comprising a strap-shaped base body that is compressible and/or extensible in the longitudinal direction, and comprising at least one pull cable, wherein the pull cable runs at least once along the longitudinal direction of the base body, and wherein the pull cable is deflected at at least one end of the base body. The present invention also relates to various possible applications of the tensioning strap according to the inventionin particular, in the field of medical aids, orthopedic aids, or sports aids.
Reinforced support tape
An adhesive reinforced support tape is provided to support muscles and joints and reduce exerting stress to the covered area, providing a support tape having a rear surface with an adhesive coating for application to the skin surface and a linear pocket for the insertion of a stiffening member into the pocket after the adhesive surface has been applied to the desired area, providing support and limitation of movement to reduce injury during lifting or heavy exertion, ideally suited for patient care where lifting of patients is required.
