Wound Dressing
The present invention discloses a wound dressing, which includes a carrier, a dressing layer and an adhesive layer. The carrier includes a central portion, a plurality of fixed portions, and a plurality of slashes. The central portion has a geometric center. The fixed portions are disposed around the central portion, and the number of the fixed portions is between 3 and 20. Each of the slashes is located between two fixed portions. The carrier has a first length, and each of the slashes has a second length. The first length is the shortest distance from an outer edge of a fixed portion to the geometric center. The ratio of the second length to the first length is between 0.2 and 0.8. The dressing layer is disposed on the central portion and includes a hydrogel. The adhesive layer is disposed on the fixed portions.
Compression garment for provision of an adjustable pressure
A compression garment for providing an adjustable pressure towards a body part is disclosed. The compression garment comprises a unitary single sheet of elastic material arranged to encircle the full circumference of a body part, such as a limb or the head. The sheet is folded or arranged to be folded in at least one predefined way, so that the folding forms one or more defined overlap(s) forming at least two overlaying layers of the sheet encircling the full circumference of a part of the body part. Hereby, the pressure profile of the garment can easily be adjusted by making use of the garment in different folded configurations. Markings may further be provided to provide guidance towards the predefined ways of folding.
Dynamic taping method for inhibition and elicitation of skeletal muscle tone
Is a taping method that follows a specific set of rules based on anatomical and physiological patterns in humans. This taping method causes a change in skeletal muscle tone in the human body, when tape is directly applied to the skin of the human body over targeted tendons and surrounding structures going over joints. This taping method will inhibit the muscle tone in the antagonist muscle of the opposing side of the joint where the tape is applied, while simultaneously eliciting the agonist of the muscle that are attached by the tendon of the joint where the tape is applied.
Acupressure sleeve having far infrared and negative ion double effect energy
An acupressure sleeve for applying acupressure to predetermined acupoints on an arm of a user includes a sleeve body and an acupressure unit. The sleeve body is configured to elastically and tightly press against the arm of the user when the acupressure sleeve is worn by the user. The sleeve body has a fiber substrate, and a plurality of far-infrared particles and a plurality of negative ion particles blended in the fiber substrate. The acupressure unit includes a plurality of acupressure protrusions protruding from the fiber substrate into an interior of the sleeve body and configured to apply acupressure to the arm of the user at positions respectively corresponding to the predetermined acupoints.
ELASTICALLY DEFORMABLE WOUND DRESSINGS
Described herein are dressings comprising a composite island comprising a polyurethane or foam layer coupled to an absorbent layer comprising non-woven gelling fibers. Also described herein are dressings comprising an absorbent layer comprising carboxymethyl cellulose fibers and a backing layer coupled to the absorbent layer. In the respective dressings, the absorbent layer is not elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions, whereas the polyurethane or foam layer and the backing layer are substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. The coupling of the absorbent layer to the polyurethane/foam layer or backing layer renders the coupled structure or the entire dressing substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. Methods of eliminating, minimizing, or reducing edema are also described herein.
WOUND THERAPY DEVICE, KIT, AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED APPLICATION TO WOUNDS ON COMPLEX GEOMETRIES
A negative pressure wound therapy device, kit, and method are provided for improved treatment of wounds on complex three-dimensional anatomies. The device includes a conformable manifold made of a porous and permeable material with a pattern of cuts designed to transform the manifold from a relaxed, planar state to a pliable three-dimensional state when extended along the lateral axis. The kit further may include a wound interface layer, an adhesive, breathable drape, and a pneumatic connection to a negative pressure wound therapy device. Finally, a method for treating wounds using reduced pressure and the presently disclosed kit is provided.
ARM SLEEVE THAT PROVIDES ASSISTANCE DURING AN ARM MOTION
Implementations of an arm sleeve that provides external assistance to the arm and shoulder during an arm motion are provided. In one implementation, the arm sleeve comprises a framework that includes a torso portion configured to be attached to the torso of a user and an arm portion configured to receive at least a portion of an arm of the user. The framework of the arm sleeve is a unitary construction of interconnected elastic members that define openings therebetween. The interconnected elastic members include a first elastic member configured to play an active part throughout an overhead throwing motion, a second elastic member configured to decrease the concentric contraction force necessary for shoulder abduction during the cocking phase of a throwing motion, and a third elastic member configured to assist eccentrically contracting muscles during the deceleration phase of a throwing motion. In another implementation, the framework of the arm sleeve is encased by an elastomeric cover.
Epicondylitis pad
Described herein is a truss pad having a base body, wherein the base body comprises a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the first surface of the base body comprises five pressure pads, wherein the first pressure pad is located in the center of a rectangle that is formed by the second pressure pad, the third pressure pad, the fourth pressure pad, and the fifth pressure pad.
NON-ADHESIVE ELASTOMERIC ARTICLES
Non-adhesive articles include an elastomeric layer, where the elastomeric layer has a plurality of cuts arrayed in a pattern. The cuts are gaps, but the gaps are not visible to the naked eye when the article is in an unstressed state, and in a stressed state, at least some of the cuts become gaps that are visible to the naked eye. The gaps are perforations in the elastomeric layer and are apertures through which one can view through the elastomeric layer. The perforations indicate the presence of stress in the article, and the elastomeric layer has a lower effective modulus of elasticity in at least one axis than an identical elastomeric layer without the plurality of cuts.
