A blood coagulant assembly includes a blood coagulant device adapted to be insertable into a nostril of a patient to stop a nose bleed. The blood coagulant device is mounted within a blood coagulant device container which has a top container section and a lower container section secured to each other in a releasable manner. The blood coagulant device is mounted in a fixed position within the blood coagulant device container prior to its removal from the blood coagulant container. The blood coagulant device has a rigid handle configured with a handle lower section and a handle upper section contoured with a channel passing through both the lower and upper handle sections. A blood coagulant mechanism is secured to an outer surface of the handle upper section and a to a ledge section of the handle member which extends radially at a joint location of the handle's lower and upper sections.

The present disclosure describes a tampon article, a composite fibrous web, and a method of making same. Such an article includes an outer carrier component including an inner surface that defines an internal void. Including an absorbent component elongate along an axis and is disposed in the internal void. The absorbent component includes an outer surface that extends about the axis and faces the inner surface. The absorbent component further includes a composite fibrous web of staple cellulosic fibers and a meltspun web of filaments entangled with the web of staple cellulosic fibers. The composite fibrous web can be in a compressed configuration in the internal void such that at least portion of the outer surface of the absorbent component is defined by the meltspun web of filaments. The tampon can include a withdrawal cord coupled to the absorbent component.

The invention relates to a breast wrap for absorbing fluid secreted from a wearer's breasts. In one embodiment the breast wrap comprises a panel of material, means for fastening the panel in a continuous band, one or more absorbent regions on a first side of the panel, and first and second adjustment means independently operable to adjust the tightness of the band along first and second adjustment regions proximate the top and bottom of the band respectively. In use, the wrap is configured to wrap around a wearer's chest and substantially cover the wearer's breasts with the one or more absorbent regions covering the wearer's nipples and the first and second adjustment regions positioned above and below the wearer's breasts respectively. In another embodiment, the breast wrap comprises one or more absorbent panels removably attached to a first side of the first panel and, in use, the one or more absorbent panels cover the wearer's nipples.

This invention relates to medical, health care and non-medical devices comprising a rubbery or elastomeric polymer material taking up more than 5% by weight of water and at most 500% by weight of water after immersion in demineralized water at room temperature for a sufficient time to reach saturation. The material may be in the form of a foam, or in the form of a coating adapted for adhesion to a substrate, or in the form of a sheet, or in the form of a fiber, and may comprise: —repeating units from one or more hydrophobic organic monomers, and —repeating units from one or more monomers (a) being modified with one or more hydrophilic side groups.

Uterine hemostasis devices and related methods are generally described. In some embodiments, a uterine hemostasis device may include a pouch enclosing one or more fluid absorbing bodies for treatment of postpartum hemorrhage. The pouch may be delivered to a patient's uterus, whereby the fluid absorbing bodies may absorb uterine fluids (e.g., blood) and expand to apply pressure to the uterine walls. Following hemostasis of the uterus, the pouch may be extracted with retrieval tethers accessible from the patient's vagina or vaginal opening. In some embodiments, the pouch may be compressed prior to extraction, such that it may pass through the cervical canal more easily. In some embodiments, the pouch may enclose one or more pouches, such that the fluid absorbing bodies may be extracted in batches to facilitate removal. The pouch may be delivered with a syringe-like applicator positioned in the cervical canal.

A disposable wearing article includes a urination region to be in contact with a urination unit of the wearer, a buttocks region to be in contact with buttocks of the wearer, and an absorbent sheet which includes an absorbent polymer sandwiched between liquid-impermeable layers. The absorbent sheet is disposed in the buttocks region but not in the urination region.
