Enantiopure or enantioenriched BDDE and its use as crosslinking agent in the manufacture of cross-linked products
Enantiomers of butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE) are present in an enantiomerically enriched enantioenriched mixture of BDDE stereisomers or in an enantiomerically pure BDDE. Enantiomerically enriched or pure BDDE is useful as a cross-linking agent, such as in the preparation of a cross-linked hyaluronic acid product.

Disclosed herein are compositions and methods of making phenolic compounds, and resins comprising these phenolic compounds. The compounds include multifunctional epoxies, amino glycidyl derivatives, and multi-functional amines prepared from hydroxymethyl derivatives of phenols and bisphenols. There is provided an epoxy compound exhibiting excellent heat resistance and flame retardance of a cured product thereof; an epoxy resin containing the epoxy compound; a curable composition and a cured product thereof; and a semiconductor sealing material. The epoxy compound has a diarylene[b,d]furan structure, in which at least one of two arylene groups has a naphthylene skeleton and two arylene groups each include a glycidyloxy group on an aromatic nucleus thereof.

The present invention provides a polymerizable compound having high storage stability without causing crystal precipitation when added to a polymerizable composition. The present invention also provides a polymerizable composition containing the compound. When the filmy polymer produced through polymerization of the polymerizable composition is irradiated with UV light, it hardly discolors or peels from substrate. Further, the present invention provides a polymer produced through polymerization of the polymerizable composition and an optically anisotropic body using the polymer.
